'''Please bear these points in mind while editing Wikipedia:'''
- Respect copyrights ↗ – do not copy and paste text or images directly from other websites.
- Maintain a neutral point of view ↗ – this is one of Wikipedia's core policies.
- Take particular care while adding biographical material about a living person ↗ to any Wikipedia page and follow Wikipedia's Biography of Living Persons policy ↗. Particularly, controversial and negative statements should be referenced ↗ with multiple reliable sources ↗.
- No edit warring ↗ or abuse of multiple accounts ↗.
- If you are testing, please use the Sandbox ↗ to <span class="plainlinks">[{{fullurl:Wikipedia:Sandbox|action=edit}} do so]</span>.
- Do not add troublesome content to any article ↗, such as: copyright ↗ed text, libel ↗, advertising ↗ or promotional messages ↗, and text that is not related to an article's subject; doing so will result in your account or IP being blocked from editing ↗.
- Do not use talk pages as discussion or forum pages as Wikipedia is not a forum ↗.
The Wikipedia tutorial ↗ is a good place to start learning about Wikipedia. If you have any questions, see the help pages ↗, add a question to the village pump ↗ or ask me on my talk page. Wikipedia and copyright
30px|link=|alt=Control copyright icon ↗ Hello Kharbaan Ghaltaan! Your additions to :Draft:Qsiakashdha ↗ have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain ↗ or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably free and compatible ↗ copyright license. (''To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission ↗''.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright ↗ and plagiarism ↗ issues.
- You can only copy/translate a ''small'' amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation mark ↗s (") and cite the source using an inline citation ↗. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content ↗ in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners ↗, for how to cite sources here.{{#ifeq: | 1 |</strong>}}
- Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information ''in your own words and structure'', in proper paraphrase ↗. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems ↗, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing ↗. Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify ↗ the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research ↗.{{#ifeq: | 2 |</strong>}}
- We have strict guidelines on the usage of copyrighted images. Fair use ↗ images must meet all ten of the non-free content criteria ↗ in order to be used in articles, or they will be deleted. To be used on Wikipedia, all other images must be made available under a free and open copyright license that allows commercial and derivative reuse.
- If ''you'' own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you ''may'' be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, ''to the world'', into either the public domain ↗ (PD) or under a suitably free and compatible ↗ copyright license. Please see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials ↗.
- Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps described at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia ↗. See also Help:Translation#License requirements ↗.
It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked ↗ from editing. If you have any questions about this, please ask them here on this page, or leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. <!-- Template:uw-copyright-new --> Begocci (talk) 08:01, 15 December 2023 (UTC)

Introduction to contentious topics
{{ivmbox | image = Commons-emblem-notice.svg |imagesize=50px | bg = #E5F8FF | text = You have recently edited a page related to '''the Arab–Israeli conflict ↗''', a topic designated as '''contentious ↗'''. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and <em>does <strong>not</strong> imply that there are any issues with your editing</em>.
A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as ''contentious topics''. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have special powers in order to reduce disruption to the project.
Within contentious topics, editors should edit <strong>carefully</strong> and <strong>constructively</strong>, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:
- adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
- comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
- follow editorial and behavioural best practice;
- comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
- refrain from gaming the system.
<p>Additionally, you must be logged-in, have 500 edits and an account age of 30 days ↗, and are not allowed to make more than 1 revert within 24 hours on a page within this topic.</p><p>Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics ''procedures'' you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard ↗ or you may learn more about this contentious topic here ↗. 30px|left|alt=Stop icon ↗ Your recent editing history at :Saddam Hussein ↗ shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war ↗; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page ↗ to work toward making a version that represents consensus ↗ among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war; read about how this is done ↗. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard ↗ or seek dispute resolution ↗. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection ↗.
'''Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing ↗'''—especially if you violate the three-revert rule ↗, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts ↗ on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—'''even if you do not violate the three-revert rule'''—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.<!-- Template:uw-3rr --> Skitash (talk) 15:54, 21 February 2024 (UTC)
Copying within Wikipedia requires attribution
25px|alt=Information icon ↗ Thank you for your contributions ↗ to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from one or more pages into :Draft:Oasoj ↗. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing ↗ does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary ↗ at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking ↗ to the copied page, e.g., <code>copied content from <nowiki>page name ↗</nowiki>; see that page's history for attribution</code>. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{tl|copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia ↗. Thank you. <!-- Template:uw-copying --> — Diannaa (talk) 14:45, 23 February 2024 (UTC)

25px|alt=Information icon ↗ Welcome to Wikipedia ↗. We appreciate your contributions ↗, but in one of your recent edits to :State of Palestine ↗, it appears that you have added original research ↗, which is against Wikipedia's policies. Original research refers to material—such as facts, allegations, ideas, and personal experiences—for which no reliable, published sources exist; it also encompasses combining published sources in a way to imply something that none of them explicitly say ↗. You also added material about the history of Jerusalem to Jerusalem Governorate ↗
I think it's better to just put related articles in "See also". That way you avoid your use of poor sources or simply wrong text, eg "The Roman era brought Christian influence to the city due to the significance of Jesus. It was the Romans, who first named this place as Palestine." That doesn't make sense and is just wrong. When Rome first conquered Jerusalem it prohibited not just Jews but Jews who had converted to Christianity from entering the city. It was only when the Roman Empire became officially Christian that it allowed Christian churches to be built in the city.
The Romans did not name "this place", ie Palestine. The city was never named Palestine. The name Palestine in any case predates the Romans. <span style="color:#070">Doug Weller</span> talk 12:24, 29 May 2024 (UTC)
The Bible is not history and you should not treat it as such
When you write about anything to do with the history of Israel you treat it as history. Modern scholarship is of the opinion that the Israelites emerged from within the Canaanite population and the religion that developed over time stems from Canaanite religions with Judaism as we know it emerging during the 6th century BCE. <span style="color:#070">Doug Weller</span> talk 12:28, 29 May 2024 (UTC)

Image selection on Iraq-related topics
Hi. I would like to thank you for your contributions on Iraq-related topics, however, I would like to ask you to please stop adding random images since
1) most of them lack good quality
2) and most importantly, please note that some topics on Iraq might be sensitive and stir up discord since the country is diverse and have had problems in the past and can lead to edit wars (which have happened before on several occasions) e.g. adding an image of a place/building/street which can represent an ethnic group in particular while other places of other group/s are left behind etc. I do not want to go deeper on this and hope that you understand.
Lastly, most of the images on Iraq-related topics are chosen thoughtfully to be seen as neutral as possible.

Close paraphrasing on Syria ↗
You have been warned above multiple times that both blatant copying and close paraphrasing (subtly changing some words with little significant change) is unacceptable. This diff ↗ involves clear close paraphrasing of the source, e.g. (copied text in bold)

Recent edit reversion
link=|alt=Control copyright icon|30x30px ↗ Your additions in this edit here ↗, have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted ↗ content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain ↗ or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably free and compatible ↗ copyright license. (''To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission ↗''.)
To see the possible source of the copyrighted text, look in the edit summary which should be visible just below my name. You can also click on the "view history" tab in the article to see the recent history of the article. There should be an edit with my name, and a parenthetical comment explaining why your edit was reverted. If that information is not sufficient to explain the situation, please ask.
While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, it's important to understand and adhere to guidelines about using information from sources to prevent copyright ↗ and plagiarism ↗ issues. Here are the key points:
- '''Limited quotation:''' You may only copy or translate a ''small'' portion of a source. Any direct quotations ↗ must be enclosed in double quotation marks ↗ (") and properly cited using an inline citation ↗, set off using the blockquote template. More information is available on the non-free content page ↗. To learn how to cite a source, see Help:Referencing for beginners ↗.
- '''Paraphrasing:''' Beyond limited quotations, you are required to put all information ''in your own words''. Following the source's wording too closely can lead to copyright issues ↗ and is not permitted; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing ↗. Even when paraphrasing, you must still cite your sources ↗ as appropriate.
- '''Image use guidelines:''' In most scenarios, only freely licensed ↗ or public domain ↗ images may be used and these should be uploaded to our sister project, Wikimedia Commons ↗. In some scenarios, non-freely copyrighted content can be used if they meet all ten of our non-free content criteria ↗; Wikipedia:Plain and simple non-free content guide ↗ may help with determining a file's eligibility.
- '''Copyrighted material donation:''' If ''you'' hold the copyright to the content you want to copy, or are a legally designated agent, you ''may'' be able to license the text for publication here. Please see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials ↗.
- '''Copying and translation within Wikipedia:''' Wikipedia articles can be copied or translated, however they must have proper attribution in accordance with Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia ↗. For translation, see Help:Translation § License requirements ↗.
It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices. Persistent failure to comply may result in being blocked ↗ from editing.
<nowiki>I do occasionally make mistakes. We get hundreds of reports of potential copyright violations every week, and sometimes there are false positives, for a variety of reasons. (Perhaps the material was moved from another Wikipedia article, or the material was properly licensed but the license information was not obvious, or the material is in the public domain but I didn't realize it was public domain, and there can be other situations generating a report to our Copy Patrol tool that turn out not to be actual copyright violations.) If you think my edit was mistaken, please politely let me know and I will investigate. ~~~~</nowiki> <span style="color:#000E2F;padding:0 4px;font-family: Copperplate Gothic Light">S Philbrick</span><span style=";padding:0 4px;color:# 000;font-family: Copperplate Gothic Light">(Talk)</span> 12:53, 20 January 2025 (UTC)

25px|alt=Information icon ↗ Thank you for your contributions ↗ to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved content from one or more pages into another page. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content (here or elsewhere), Wikipedia's licensing ↗ does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, ''':Saddam Hussein (!) ↗'''. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – ''':Saddam Hussein ↗'''. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion ↗. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at :Saddam Hussein ↗. If you have new information to add, you might want to discuss it at the article's talk page ↗.
If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may '''contest the nomination''' by visiting the page ↗ and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines ↗. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the {{Querylink|Special:Log|qs=type=delete&page=Saddam+Hussein+%28%21%29|deleting administrator}}, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here ↗. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process ↗ and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. :Dear @Skitash we made tons of discussions on Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/IncidentArchive1185#WP:CIR issue (not resolved yet) ↗ and Talk:Saddam Hussein ↗ and we made resolution. But you didn't respond at all. How long we will wait to delay our contributions on the topic. Whatever edits I am making, you are reverting it. If you want to take an active role in this topic and claim to improve article, then instead of wiping off entire content, you could adjust it. You cant just remove whatever tons of useful information I have added. Also many have valuable argument or support to my idea, then you are not responding either.
:Regarding you thought of WP:SIZE. It doesn't mean that you remove tons of information from article of Saddam Hussein and portray him as a uneducated war-maniac dictator. This disputes the neutrality of the article. Pls reply to my message, as well as to other users on WP:CIR issue (not resolved yet) ↗ and Talk:Saddam Hussein ↗. Thank You Kharbaan Ghaltaan (talk) 19:36, 1 May 2025 (UTC)

::{{tq|"But you didn't respond at all"}} I've responded several times on both Talk:Saddam Hussein ↗ and in the behavioral report. Not agreeing with you isn't the same as not responding.
::{{tq|"How long we will wait to delay our contributions"}} You're not being "delayed." You're being asked to follow WP:SIZERULE ↗ and WP:MOS ↗. Quality matters more than quantity.
::{{tq|"You cant just remove whatever tons of useful information I have added"}} Yes we can. Please familiarize yourself with WP:BRD ↗ if you haven't already.
::{{tq|"portray him as a uneducated war-maniac dictator"}} That's not my goal. I'm not here to demonize anyone. I just happen to not agree with some of your edits, which I believe do more harm than good by bloating the article.
::While I do understand your intentions, this approach isn't improving the article. Listing individuals by ethnicity or religion and highlighting the demographic situation of Iraq (especially when this kind of material belongs in Ba'athist Iraq ↗, not an individual biography) doesn't add anything meaningful. Random sentences like "Iraqi Jews also served in state institutions" and "Mandaeans were active in state administration and craftsmanship" add no value to the article. Saddam Hussein#Consolidation of power ↗ does more than enough in explaining that Saddam "appointed members of various religious and ethnic minorities to high-ranking positions." I have, however, restored content regarding Saddam's impact on education and the economy. What you're doing not only bloats the article well past WP:SIZERULE ↗ but also distracts from the main focus; Saddam himself. Skitash (talk) 22:00, 1 May 2025 (UTC)
:::'''There has been no resolution. In fact, multiple editors have expressed opposition to your edits, one of whom even proposed topic banning you due to WP:CIR ↗ concerns.''' — As there are many editors who have opposed by edits, there are numerous editors who have also acknowledged the content I provided
:::'''I've responded several times on both Talk:Saddam Hussein ↗ and in the be—havioral report. Not agreeing with you isn't the same as not responding'''. — You didn't responded to our discussions, neither no nor yes
:::'''You're not being "delayed." You're being asked to follow WP:SIZERULE ↗ and WP:MOS ↗. Quality matters more than quantity'''. — Disruptive editing, edit war and all are different things. I'm just feared that any single edit would led blocking me. Also if you tell a small "yes" to edit based on WP:SIZERULE ↗ and WP:MOS ↗, I will try my best. I can't be perfect in it, by beginning
:::'''''Yes we can. Please familiarize yourself with WP:BRD ↗ if you haven't already'''''. — Still wiping off entire content of user, make him/her feel like their long efforts gone, at least try to improve and adjust it by yourself
:::'''That's not my goal. I'm not here to demonize anyone. I just happen to not agree with some of your edits, which I believe do more harm than good by bloating the article'''. — but your counter edits has made the article look that. You even deleted essential sections in the article such as Presidency > Domestic Policies > Economy and Presidency > Foreign Policy
:::Thanks for understanding. Regarding your ideas.:
:::* Ba'athist Iraq is article of a country. Listing minority officials in that article is not relevant at all. One sentence or a paragraph is enough in Ba'athist Iraq like "The government of Saddam appointed various religious and ethnic minorities to high-ranking officials" or "Jews and Christians were well-integrated".
:::* Random sentences like "Iraqi Jews also served in state institutions", I sought help from ChatGPT. I wrote in my grammar style, but some disagree with it. Then when I use ChatGPT, then again someone disagree.
:::* Saddam Hussein#Consolidation of power ↗ is to mention Saddam's tight grip, authoritarianism, and control over the state (militias, purges, seizing power).
:::* While adding "Diversity in Leadership" and "Religion, sect and ethnicity" is truly relevant. Because Iraq is ethnically and religiously, overall demographically diverse. (Shia-Sunni, Arab, Kurds, Christians (Assyrians, Armenians), Turkmen, Jews, Mandaeans etc.
:::* Saddam's topic is all about sectarianism, protection of religious and ethnic minorities, stability among Iraqis, generous acts to certain community to gain support etc. Conservative and pro-Iranian Shias label Saddam as anti-Shia, who only cared about Sunnis. Pro-western and liberal Kurds will label Saddam as anti-Kurd. Western and Zionists will label Saddam more worse as an " education illiterate war-maniac typical Muslim leader as shown in bias media, who hate every Jews and equal Israel with Jews and discriminated against them". Lets agree, that listing every officers from each community is making the section lengthy. In this case, atleast we can add two or three officials. thats enough. Regarding these two sections — my idea is — add these two sections following WP:SIZERULE ↗ and WP:MOS ↗ and creating an another article (on which I am working on my sandbox) titled as the Presidency of Saddam Hussein ↗ (currently a redirect) and there we can add tones of info where at first there wont be much need to follow WP:SIZERULE ↗ and WP:MOS ↗ and later we can improve this article too
:::* There are tons of info needed to be added, while following WP:SIZERULE ↗ and WP:MOS ↗.
:::Pls leave a reply to me Kharbaan Ghaltaan (talk) 05:52, 2 May 2025 (UTC)
::::{{tq|"As there are many editors who have opposed by edits, there are numerous editors who have also acknowledged the content I provided"}} That doesn't mean consensus. Wikipedia is not a WP:VOTE ↗, especially when your edits go against existing policies.
::::{{tq|"You even deleted essential sections in the article such as Presidency > Domestic Policies > Economy"}} That's not true. In fact, I've just restored the economy section.https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Saddam_Hussein&oldid=1288145734 ↗
::::{{tq|"but your counter edits has made the article look that."}} That's not my intent at all. I've kept sourced and balanced content about his domestic policies and education reforms. I simply removed the bloated name-dropping and WP:FLUFF ↗.
::::{{tq|"Ba'athist Iraq is article of a country. Listing minority officials in that article is not relevant at all."}} The ethnic and religious makeup of a '''government''' is more relevant in a '''country''' article than in a biography. Saddam’s article should focus on his own role and impact, not a list of which ethnoreligious groups had which generals and engineers.
::::{{tq|""Iraqi Jews also served in state institutions", I sought help from ChatGPT."}} Using ChatGPT is a violation of WP:LLM ↗, and the phrase itself adds nothing. We don't add random facts for the sake of it.
::::{{tq|"Lets agree, that listing every officers from each community is making the section lengthy. In this case, atleast we can add two or three officials."}} Even two or three is unnecessary if it’s just irrelevant name-dropping. We already have the following sentence: "Saddam appointed members of various religious and ethnic minorities to high-ranking positions" which is more than sufficient.
::::{{tq|"creating an another article (on which I am working on my sandbox) titled as the Presidency of Saddam Hussein"}} I appreciate that you're working on this. That article is indeed a more appropriate place for in-depth detail about government composition, domestic policy, and foreign affairs (such as relations with Venezuela, which you've added in Saddam's article). I support developing it further. However, Saddam Hussein ↗ (a biography about an individual) needs trimming, not expanding. It's already at over 11,000 words, when WP:SIZERULE ↗ states that articles even over 8,000 words long "May need to be divided or trimmed; likelihood goes up with size." Skitash (talk) 18:21, 2 May 2025 (UTC)
:::::'''"Saddam appointed members of various religious and ethnic minorities to high-ranking positions"''' This small sentence is not at all enough. Saddam's article is entirely focused on sectarianism, and all, which is the most discussed topic of Iraq itself. Saddam's protection of minorities and diversity in leadership forms an important topic of him. There should be one section of three paragraphs, maximum four. It will include all about Saddam's approach with religious and ethnic groups and appointment of some of them to most important positions, in context of Saddam. For example (not sentence, but information)
:::::* the Jewish engineer Shaoul Sassoon ↗ received appreciation letter and reward from Saddam for his engineering work.
:::::* Naji Salman Salih ↗, was representative of Jews in the state ministries and claimed that Saddam had nuclear weapons for peaceful purposes, and praised Saddam even after his death in an interview in London, clearly reflects that Saddam did protected and gave Jews some sort of integration despite their small number (I am not saying to add this as a content, but I am saying about the information
:::::* Saddam made numerous gestures and generous contribution to every religious and ethnic groups in Iraq to gain support
:::::* Several Christian religious figures, post-1969 Jews and Mandaean religious figures have praised Saddam
:::::This things must be on Saddam Hussein's talk page as WP:SIZE followed section Kharbaan Ghaltaan (talk) 00:22, 3 May 2025 (UTC)
::::::You're welcome to work on your draft of Presidency of Saddam Hussein ↗ (which is a much better place for that kind of detailed content), but I won't be repeating myself. This is a biography and not a dumping ground for trivia. Wikipedia isn't here to list things like "a Jewish engineer received a thank you letter" or "a Mandaean praised Saddam." This adds nothing and absolutely does not belong in a an article about an individual. WP:SIZERULE ↗ applies to the entire article and not whatever you're suggesting. Skitash (talk) 03:42, 3 May 2025 (UTC)
:::::Fair points, however why was "religion, sect and ethnicity" removed??
:::::It is fair enough that "Diversity in leadership" gets removed (due to irrelevance), however i do not know why information regarding the status of Christians, Jews, Shi'ites, Mandaeans, Armenians and Kurds during the time of Saddam has to be removed. Iraq is a nation that has plenty of problems regarding sectarianism (in the past and especially present), it is therefore that other pages about Iraqi leaders include information regarding sectarianism and ethnic tolerance. KiddKrazy2 (talk) 07:11, 3 May 2025 (UTC)
:::::Also, i do think it is a good idea to have a separate article about the deeper details about Saddam's presidency. That way, key information can be explained while also keeping the article in size. KiddKrazy2 (talk) 07:16, 3 May 2025 (UTC)
::::::Sectarianism in Iraq is a big deal indeed, however, much like the "diversity in leadership" section, that section on "religion, sect, and ethnicity" was repetitive and read more like community name-dropping (things like "Christians were treated fairly" and "Mandaeans were protected," which, frankly, are the bare minimum responsibilities of a functioning state) than offering anything meaningful. I think we can all agree that a separate Presidency of Saddam Hussein ↗ article is a more appropriate place for that kind of information (albeit presented properly and in line with WP:MOS ↗ and WP:IRI ↗). Skitash (talk) 07:45, 3 May 2025 (UTC)
:::::::We all seem to be in agreement regarding the "Presidency of Saddam Hussein" article. However, the "religion, sect and ethnicity" was more than just "name dropping". It mentions the specifics of it (for example: The paragraph regarding Saddams protection of Iraqi Jews not only mentions the basics of "Iraqi Jews and synagogues were given state protection" but also goes into examples of it such as an example of this protection coming into effect.) KiddKrazy2 (talk) 08:01, 3 May 2025 (UTC)
::::::::I still find it unusual and unnecessary to highlight basic state obligations like protecting religious minorities and places of worship as significant achievements in Saddam's biography. Most of it sounds like WP:FLUFF ↗ and filler. If there are specific examples or incidents that are truly noteworthy ↗, they'd be far more appropriate in the dedicated Presidency of Saddam Hussein ↗ article. Skitash (talk) 10:14, 3 May 2025 (UTC)
:::::::::'''I still find it unusual and unnecessary to highlight basic state obligations like protecting religious minorities and places of worship as significant achievements in Saddam's biography.''' — It is not unnecessary, because this things makes up Saddam's popularity. After Saddam's overthrow, Iraq fell into chaos and religious minorities lost protection. As the west supported invasion of Iraq and these chaotic events came in light, then Saddam's positivity came, where religious minorities were under protection. This must be added as a medium size subsection in "Saddam Hussein".
:::::::::'''If there are specific examples or incidents that are truly noteworthy ↗, they'd be far more appropriate in the dedicated Presidency of Saddam Hussein ↗ article''' — One sentence regarding specific examples and incidents (e.x – Saddam thanking and rewarding that Jewish engineer, shooting of Baghdadi Jews and Saddam's condemnation, Tariq Aziz, Saddam gave "Golden Sect" title to Mandaeans, Saddam's statements etc.) can be added in "Saddam Hussein" and detailed information of these examples and incidents can be added in "Presidency of Saddam Hussein".
:::::::::How is this idea Kharbaan Ghaltaan (talk) 12:05, 3 May 2025 (UTC)
::::::::::{{tq|"As the west supported invasion of Iraq and these chaotic events came in light"}} But again, this belongs in articles about post-2003 Iraq or broader articles such as Ba'athist Iraq ↗ or History of Iraq ↗. Post-fall comparisons don't justify inflating Saddam's biography with selective positives.
::::::::::{{tq|"One sentence regarding specific examples and incidents..."}} I don't believe individual incidents like "Saddam rewarding a Jewish engineer" or "giving the Golden Sect title to Mandaeans" are notable enough for inclusion in a biography. They are not defining moments and should not be given WP:UNDUE ↗ weight. Skitash (talk) 12:54, 3 May 2025 (UTC)
:::::::::::'''But again, this belongs in articles about post-2003 Iraq or broader articles such as Ba'athist Iraq ↗ or History of Iraq ↗. Post-fall comparisons don't justify inflating Saddam's biography with selective positives'''. — That's it. post-2003 Iraq saw massive exodus of Christians and Mandaeans from Iraq, and decline in already dwindled Jewish community
:::::::::::'''I don't believe individual incidents like "Saddam rewarding a Jewish engineer" or "giving the Golden Sect title to Mandaeans" are notable enough for inclusion in a biography. They are not defining moments and should not be given WP:UNDUE ↗ weight''' — This events and examples include Saddam directly and its necessary for such events to be in Saddam's article. I will make an draft in my sandbox and I will show to everyone. Lets see its correct or not under WP:UNDUE ↗ Kharbaan Ghaltaan (talk) 13:10, 3 May 2025 (UTC)
:::::::::I think information regarding "religion, sect and ethnicity" can be placed in the Presidency of Saddam Hussein page. However, Iraq has a history of leaders who, instead of doing their basic obligations as a government (in this case protect religious minorities), choose to be sectarian and alienate the population. Therefore it is important to include Saddam's nonsectarianism and positive treatment of religious minorities for the same reason as al-Maliki's sectarianism and alienation of religious minorities. revert on Baghdad infobox images
why did you revert the images in the infobox of Baghdad? and you mentioned that this infobox images were already discussed when they never were, the infobox images are an embarrassment for any Baghdadi and Iraqi and it seems you do not understand the historical significance of Baghdad Prosnu (talk) 19:33, 10 October 2025 (UTC)
:We did, go to talk page and check history. There is nothing wrong with showing historical significance of Baghdad. More better images are welcome. The problem is sizing, structuring and alignment. Forget what images are in infobox. But look at the versions of mine and yours. The actual point to check is the framing and all. That all images are properly aligned, bordered and same sized in infobox or not. Kharbaan Ghaltaan (talk) 19:53, 10 October 2025 (UTC)
