International Festival of Fashion Photography ↗ moved to draftspace

Thanks for your contributions to International Festival of Fashion Photography ↗. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because '''it needs more sources to establish notability'''.
I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page ↗.
When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit the draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. 🌸wasianpower🌸 ↗ (talk • contribs ↗) 20:19, 26 September 2025 (UTC)

Question from Bahtiar Affendiy Bin Padillah on Wikipedia:Sandbox ↗ (05:27, 2 March 2026)

Why is my Wikipedia not published --Bahtiar Affendiy Bin Padillah (talk) 05:27, 2 March 2026 (UTC)

:Hi Bahtiar Affendiy Bin Padillah.
:The page you created is currently in your user space, so clicking ‘Publish changes’ only saved your edits there - it did not publish an encyclopedia article. Your user page isnt the place for an article drafts. If you want to create a Wikipedia article firstly you should move the content to a sandbox or to Draft:Article title, add reliable independent sources, and then submit it through Articles for Creation. Also please note that if the topic is about something you are closely connected - please disclose that and avoid creating it directly. Kqol (talk) 22:40, 3 March 2026 (UTC)
:@Bahtiar Affendiy Bin Padillah
:Also these pages may be helpful for your understanding the article-creation process and Wikipedia main content policies:
:Userspace draft help ↗ - difference between a userspace draft and a published article
:Your first article ↗ - a step-by-step guide for new article creators
:Article Wizard ↗ - helps you start a draft in the correct place
:Articles for creation ↗ - where you can submit a draft for review
:Notability ↗ - whether a topic is suitable for its own article
:Reliable sources ↗ and Verifiability ↗ - what kinds of sources are needed and how claims should be supported
:Neutral point of view ↗ and No original research ↗ - two of the core content policies for article writing
:Conflict of interest ↗ - important if the topic is about yourself or something you are closely connected to
:If you need help, you can also ask at the Teahouse ↗ or the Help desk ↗. Kqol (talk) 23:39, 3 March 2026 (UTC)

i made a draft about a flower and it has 2 senteces its not that documented will it be accepted --Bermensterflora (talk) 09:23, 5 March 2026 (UTC)

Hi@Bermensterflora, and welcome. I see that the article you asked me about has already been published in the main namespace. Congratulations!
:As for your draft about ''Early McIntosh ↗'', I can see that other editors have already given you some advice on article formatting. At the moment, the main issue is with the sources.
:I will try to look for some suitable and help you with this article. Kqol (talk) 18:15, 6 March 2026 (UTC)

:Please have a look at the sources below, as they may be useful in establishing notability under WP:N.
:Please make sure that the claims in the draft are supported by reliable, independent sources in line with WP:V, and add inline citations where needed. It would also be a good idea to keep the references formatted consistently, following the advice you have already received and the general guidance at WP:MOS. You may also look at other articles on similar topics, as they can serve as an example of how this kind of articles is typically organized. Once you feel the draft is in reasonably good shape, you can resubmit it at WP:AFC
:Also, it is very much to your credit that you openly acknowledged a possible conflict of interest, since that kind of transparency is always appreciated. Kqol (talk) 18:32, 6 March 2026 (UTC)

Hello Kqol,

Please let me know if the user page is my main page to create content.

:Hello @KrishWikiDasgupta, and welcome. You can use it for your notes, WikiProjects, or a little information about yourself, not really for writing encyclopedia articles.
:If you want to create a new article, it is usually a good idea to work on it in your sandbox or in draft space. Then submit it through Articles for Creation ↗.

Question from Tallpup (00:54, 31 March 2026)

Hi! I noticed a page was poorly cited and added some "citation needed" suggestions and the page reverted with no changes. How do I get more information about why it wasn't changed? --Tallpup (talk) 00:54, 31 March 2026 (UTC)

:Hi @Tallpup and welcome!
:Most likely the tags were removed because they were added to the lead for material that is already sourced in the body. On English Wikipedia, lead citations are often omitted when the lead is just summarizing cited material from later sections, although challenged material can still need an inline citation.

Question from Marial68 (19:57, 21 April 2026)

Hi, I'd like to publish my Article about Georgina Adelaide Müller. Just wanted to ask if a review period of several months is normal? Above the draft it says the review will take at least two months. Thanks:) --Marial68 (talk) 19:57, 21 April 2026 (UTC)

:Hi @Marial68 and welcome!
:Yes, that is normal. AfC currently has a large backlog, and drafts are reviewed in no fixed order, so waiting several months can happen. If your draft shows "Review waiting", it is in the queue and will be reviewed when a reviewer gets to it. <span style="color:#008f39;font-family:cursive;font-size:110%;font-weight:bold;">Kqol</span> <span style="color:#008f39;">•</span> <span style="color:#008f39;"><small><i>talk</i></small></span> 18:54, 23 April 2026 (UTC)

I'm confused why my draft keeps being rejected despite having multiple references/sources? --Cadetmisty (talk) 16:18, 23 April 2026 (UTC)

:Hi @Cadetmisty and welcome!
:The problem is not the number of references, but the type of sources and how they are used. Your current sources mostly verify individual facts, but they do not appear to provide the kind of independent, secondary and in-depth coverage needed to show notability for a BLP ↗. The draft also reads more like a list of family/residence/career details than an article based on substantial published coverage about the person. <span style="color:#008f39;font-family:cursive;font-size:110%;font-weight:bold;">Kqol</span> <span style="color:#008f39;">•</span> <span style="color:#008f39;"><small><i>talk</i></small></span> 19:13, 23 April 2026 (UTC)

Question from Bucket of Bubbles (00:04, 7 May 2026)

Hey Kqol, I have noticed a bunch of other established users posting warnings on user talk pages after reverting that user's vandalism or bad edits. I was wondering if this is something that only established users should do, or if I should do this as well after reverting an edit? --Bucket of Bubbles - He/They/She (Talk) 00:04, 7 May 2026 (UTC)

:Hi @Bucket of Bubbles and welcome!
:You don’t need a certain edit count or length of time on Wikipedia to leave warnings after reverting vandalism or clearly unconstructive edits. What matters is '''understanding the relevant policies and choosing a warning that fits the situation'''.
:If you’re confident about what happened, it’s fine to leave a relevant warning or a short personal note.
:Just be careful not to label every bad edit as vandalism. It’s worth reading WP:VAND ↗, WP:AGF ↗, and WP:BITE ↗ first, so your warnings match the situation.
:Also, please remember to be friendly with other editors :) <span style="color:#008f39;font-family:cursive;font-size:110%;font-weight:bold;">Kqol</span> <span style="color:#008f39;">•</span> <span style="color:#008f39;"><small><i>talk</i></small></span> 19:01, 7 May 2026 (UTC)

Question from Youngy73 on Wikipedia:About ↗ (10:11, 8 May 2026)

Hi, I’ve just made an edit to a page which is currently titled ‘Langdale Wildfire’ but which should more accurately be referred to as the Langdale Forest and Fylingdales Moor Wildfire. I have changed the subheadings and text accordingly, but don’t seem to be able to change the main title?

Thanks
Mark --Youngy73 (talk) 10:11, 8 May 2026 (UTC)

:Hi @Youngy73 and welcome!
:The article title cannot be changed by editing the article text. It has to be changed by moving the page; see WP ↗. Since your account is new, you probably do not have the page-move permission yet.
:However, because your edit was reverted, I would not treat this as an uncontroversial technical move. Please start a discussion on the article’s talk page instead. You can explain why you think the title should be changed to “Langdale Forest and Fylingdales Moor Wildfire”, and provide reliable sources showing that this is the name most commonly used <span style="color:#008f39;font-family:cursive;font-size:110%;font-weight:bold;">Kqol</span> <span style="color:#008f39;">•</span> <span style="color:#008f39;"><small><i>talk</i></small></span> 18:48, 8 May 2026 (UTC)

Unblock request

{{unblock reviewed|reason=First of all, I've never been paid, and I edit Wikipedia as a volunteer. I've read WP:PAID and the ToU—there's nothing on my side to disclose.

My guess is that this report came in retaliation from someone whose article is under AfD, nominated by me as an NPP reviewer. I've been active as an NPP reviewer lately, and a few editors didn't take it well when I nominated or tagged their pages.

If you could point out the diffs or article creations that resulted in this block, that would help me explain my position. If I'm unblocked, I will continue my work as NPP to reduce backlog and translate German language Wikipedia articles to English. I edit Wikipedia as a hobby and I'm saddened by the fact that I can no longer contribute to this encyclopedia. I'm willing to cooperate with admins and arbcom to resolve this.

Hello {{BASEPAGENAME}},

thumb|400px|New Page Review queue November 2025 - May 2026 ↗

'''Backlog update'''

At the time of this message, there are 15,282 articles and 32,951 redirects awaiting review.

After the January–February drive the article backlog was reduced to 15,179 articles and the redirect backlog to 19,053 respectively. Great job! However, both queues are growing rapidly and any additional reviews are highly appreciated.

'''2024 and 2025 NPP Awards'''

74px|left ↗{{no ping|JTtheOG}} was selected as the NPP reviewer of the year for both 2024 and 2025, for reviewing the most articles amongst all reviewers.
{{no ping|Hey man im josh}} and {{no ping|MPGuy2824}} won the Redirect Ninja Master Award for 2024 and 2025 respectively, for reviewing the most redirects.

Overall in 2024, one Platinum, two Gold, eight Silver, 12 Bronze and 45 Iron Barnstars were awarded. Additionally, 66 reviewers got the NPP barnstar for doing more than 100 reviews through the year. In 2025, one Platinum, ten Silver, 13 Bronze and 38 Iron Barnstars were awarded. Additionally, 38 reviewers got the NPP barnstar for doing more than 100 reviews through the year.

{{no ping|BoyTheKingCanDance}}, {{no ping|Rosiestep}}, {{no ping|SunDawn}}, and {{no ping|Vanderwaalforces}} were inducted into the NPP Hall of Fame ↗ for having two separate years of 2,000+ article reviews.

'''January–February backlog drive'''

The experimental two-month long backlog drive concluded with 183 reviewers patrolling over 27,761 articles and 35,309 redirects, earning over 36,836 points. Congratulations to {{no ping|JTtheOG}}, who achieved first place with 6,484.6 points in this drive.

'''May backlog drive'''

An article-only backlog drive is currently underway. We are hoping to make a big dent in the backlog. You can read more about it or join at Wikipedia:New pages patrol/Backlog drives/May 2026 ↗.

'''PageTriage'''

An attempt was made to get the New Pages Feed ↗ to sort by date marked as reviewed instead of date created. However we had to revert it due to bugs. We may try again in the future. You can subscribe to the Phabricator ticket ↗ if you're interested in following along.

Question from NvD at USAScienceFestival (15:41, 22 June 2026)

Hello - I posted this for my previous mentor and did not receive a response, so I'll paste it here for your review. Thanks in advance:
I have declared a conflict of interest and have been proposing updates to the USA Science & Engineering Festival article through the Talk page. In mid-April, I posted a request to add sourced information for the 2018 and 2020 Festival events (which were missing and were even mentioned as missing by another editor on the Talk page). I have not received any editor feedback. Could you advise on the best next step? Should I continue to wait for review or is there another process you recommend when Talk page requests do not receive a response? --NvD at USAScienceFestival (talk) 15:41, 22 June 2026 (UTC)

:Hi @NvD at USAScienceFestival, and welcome. Thanks for being so careful with your COI disclosing upfront and going through the Talk page is exactly right, and your earlier logo request shows you know the ropes.
:Two things are probably behind the silence, and they're fixable. First, the small one: your 2018/2020 post doesn't have an active <nowiki>{{Edit COI}}</nowiki> at the top, so unlike your logo request it never landed in the queue volunteers actually watch. Add <nowiki>{{Edit COI|summary=Add 2018 and 2020 Festival events}}</nowiki> to that section and it'll show up. There is no need to repost, just edit.
:The bigger one is sourcing. Right now those additions lean entirely on PDFs from usasciencefestival.org, and that's the toughest thing to approve. A reviewer can't just drop those in as is. If you can find independent coverage (not self-published) — and cite that for the key facts, attribute or trim the numbers that only the org reports, and ease off the promotional-sounding bits, it becomes something someone can actually say yes to. <span style="color:#008f39;font-family:cursive;font-size:110%;font-weight:bold;">Kqol</span> <span style="color:#008f39;">•</span> <span style="color:#008f39;"><small><i>talk</i></small></span> 19:26, 22 June 2026 (UTC)

Question from Roi Maor (07:45, 24 June 2026)

Hi, I'm Roi.

I have a very general question: how do if find articles that I can helpfuly edit?

I've tried various routes, but I couldn't figure out how to use them, or it led me to long list of articles, where the first few dozens were all hyper specific. I could easily just find articles that I'm knowledgeable about, but I want to contribute where there is the greatest need for an edit.

Any tips?

Thanks! --Roi Maor (talk) 07:45, 24 June 2026 (UTC)

:Hi @Roi Maor, and welcome.
:* If you want general tasks, try the Wikipedia Task Center ↗.
:* If you want current maintenance work, check Community portal: Open tasks ↗ or Wikipedia:Backlog ↗.
:* If you want to edit in topics you know, browse the WikiProject Directory ↗, join a WikiProject, and look for its “open tasks” or “to-do” sections.
:My practical tip: pick one kind of edit first, such as adding citations, copyediting, expanding short articles, or fixing cleanup tags. Then combine that with a topic area you know. <span style="color:#008f39;font-family:cursive;font-size:110%;font-weight:bold;">Kqol</span> <span style="color:#008f39;">•</span> <span style="color:#008f39;"><small><i>talk</i></small></span> 15:39, 24 June 2026 (UTC)

Hello how can I fix the page for the notable actor John Holiday? --GoodSourceMedia (talk) 22:31, 24 June 2026 (UTC)

:The page is Johnny Holiday (actor) ↗?
:Quick thing first, then I'm happy to help.
:Your username looks like a company name, and "are you for hire?" makes me think you might be editing for a client or employer. If that's the case, no problem, but you'd need to disclose it under our paid editing / conflict of interest rules see WP:PAID ↗, WP:COI ↗. So: who are you, and is anyone paying you or otherwise connected to this article? Worth sorting before we dig in.
:Also in wikipedi usernames can't represent a company, so "GoodSourceMedia" may need changing: see WP:ORGNAME ↗.
:On the article itself, the issue is right there in the banner: it leans on a single source, that 2005 USA Today piece. To really fix it, it needs solid coverage in several independent, reliable sources. <span style="color:#008f39;font-family:cursive;font-size:110%;font-weight:bold;">Kqol</span> <span style="color:#008f39;">•</span> <span style="color:#008f39;"><small><i>talk</i></small></span> 22:43, 25 June 2026 (UTC)

Question from SerigneL (04:44, 1 July 2026)

Hi Kqol,

I’m interested in creating a Wikipedia page for my academic profile. I’m a Professor of Biostatistics and believe I meet Wikipedia’s academic notability criteria, with over 23,000 citations and more than 400 peer-reviewed publications.

However, I understand that, as the subject, I have a conflict of interest and therefore should not create the page myself. Could you please advise on the best way to proceed?

I have drafted the article and would be happy for it to be reviewed and submitted by independent editors if appropriate.

Kind regards,
Serigne --SerigneL (talk) 04:44, 1 July 2026 (UTC)

:Hi @SerigneL, thanks for the disclosure — right approach.
:Best path:
:1. Create draft at draftspace via Articles for Creation ↗ or your sandbox
:2. Add {{tl|connected contributor|User1=SerigneL|U1-declared=yes}} on the talk page
:3. Source it via independent secondary coverage (news, major awards, elected fellowships), not your own CV, Google Scholar, university pages
:4. With 23,000 citations you likely pass WP:NPROF ↗ but the article still needs neutral tone and independent sourcing
:5. Submit draft via AfC and independent reviewer will accept, decline, or comment it. Don't move to mainspace yourself please
:Feel free to ping me once you have a draft in your sandbox or in draftspace and I can take a look and give some initial feedback before you submit. Good luck. <span style="color:#008f39;font-family:cursive;font-size:110%;font-weight:bold;">Kqol</span> <span style="color:#008f39;">•</span> <span style="color:#008f39;"><small><i>talk</i></small></span> 19:24, 1 July 2026 (UTC)

Question from Worldengravingnews (11:57, 2 July 2026)

:Hi @Worldengravingnews, and welcome.
:Happy to help but before submitting, the draft really needs work, or it'll be declined quickly. Three things:
:* '''Notability''' this is the big one. Wikipedia needs several independent, reliable sources ↗ covering the subject in depth (news profiles, magazine features), added as inline citations ↗. The current links are mostly his own or promotional pages, which don't count.
:* '''Formatting''' right now it's one big block of text with bare URLs. It needs to be split into proper paragraphs, and those bare links turned into real references ↗ rather than pasted into the prose. The tone should also be neutral (WP:PEACOCK ↗).
:* '''Connection''' I have to ask: are you personally or professionally connected to Kelly Laster? If so, please disclose it - see WP:COI ↗ (and WP:PAID ↗ if it's paid).
:Happy to go over the sources with you first.

Question from Bad Boomer (22:55, 2 July 2026)

Thank you. I'm a professional writer/editor on factual matters with over 50 years experience. What that mainly means here is that I know how to learn. Is there a specific Wikipedia style guide? --Bad Boomer (talk) 22:55, 2 July 2026 (UTC)

:Hi @Bad Boomer, and welcome.
:Yes it's the Manual of Style ↗ (MoS). It's big, so don't try to memorise it; treat it as a reference for when you're unsure, and start with the simplified version ↗. Honestly, the easiest approach is to find a well-written article on a similar topic and copy how it's formatted and sourced.
:One heads-up: the things that most affect whether an article survives aren't style but verifiability ↗ and notability ↗ everything cited to independent, reliable sources. Happy to point you to the right MoS subpage whenever a specific question comes up. <span style="color:#008f39;font-family:cursive;font-size:110%;font-weight:bold;">Kqol</span> <span style="color:#008f39;">•</span> <span style="color:#008f39;"><small><i>talk</i></small></span> 20:58, 3 July 2026 (UTC)
