25px|alt=Information icon ↗ Thank you for your contributions ↗ to Wikipedia. Regarding your recent edits to :Ampera Cabinet ↗ when you modified the page, you introduced {{cl|Unknown parameters|unknown parameters}}. Just because you specify {{para|some_param|{{var|some_variable}}}} does not always mean that variable will display. The {{para|some_param}} must be defined in the template. You can look at the documentation for the template you are using but it is also helpful to use the preview ↗ button before you save your edit; this helps you find any errors you have made and ensure that the values you have added are displaying correctly. Below the edit box is a '''Show preview''' button. Pressing this will show you what the page will look like without actually saving it. It is strongly recommended that you use this before saving. Note I have likely fixed the error by now so check the history ↗ of the page to see how it was fixed. If you have any questions, contact the help desk ↗ for assistance.

Bare URLs as citations
25px|alt=Information icon ↗ Hello! Thank you for your efforts to improve Wikipedia, and in particular for adding references, as you did to Societal breakdown in the Gaza Strip during the Gaza war ↗! However, adding a bare URL ↗ is not ideal, and exposes the reference to link rot ↗. It is preferable to use proper citation templates ↗ when citing sources ↗, including details such as title, author, date, and any other information necessary for a bibliographic citation ↗. Here's an example of a full citation using the {{tl|cite web}} template to cite a web page:
: <syntaxhighlight lang="wikitext">Lorem ipsum<ref>{{cite web |title=Download the Scanning Software - Windows and Mac |publisher=Canon Inc |work=Ask a Question |date=2022 |url=https://support.usa.canon.com/kb/index?page=content&id=ART174839 |access-date=2022-04-02}}</ref> dolor sit amet.</syntaxhighlight>
which displays ''inline ↗'' in the running text of the article as:
:Lorem ipsum{{fake ref|1}} dolor sit amet.
and displays under '''References''' as:
#^ Download the Scanning Software - Windows and Mac ↗". ''Ask a Question''. Canon Inc. 2022. Retrieved 2022-04-02.
If you've already added one or more bare URLs to an article, there are tools available to expand them into full citations: try the Citer tool ↗, or in the wikitext editor ↗, try the reFill tool ↗, and in the Visual Editor ↗, the reference dialog ↗ can convert some bare urls into a full citation.
I have tagged the bare URLs in the article for clean-up, so others can find them. <!-- Template:Uw-bareurl --> - Cameron Dewe (talk) 21:07, 13 January 2026 (UTC)

Minor edits
25px|alt=Information icon ↗ Hi MarketFruit! I noticed that you recently made an edit and marked it as "minor", but it may not have been. On Wikipedia, "minor edit ↗" refers only to superficial edits that could never be disputed, such as fixing typo ↗s or reverting obvious vandalism ↗. Any edit that changes the <em>meaning</em> of an article is not minor, even if it only concerns a single word. Thank you. <!-- Template:uw-minor -->
25px|alt=Information icon ↗ Hello. I have noticed that you {{usertalk other|often ↗|often}} edit without using an edit summary ↗. Please do your best to {{strong|always fill in the summary field}}. This helps your fellow editors use their time more productively, rather than spending it unnecessarily scrutinizing and verifying your work. To help yourself remember, you may wish to check the "prompt me when entering a blank edit summary" box in your preferences ↗. Minor edits
I've noticed that quite a few of your edits have been tagged as "minor", despite not being so. Per WP:ME ↗ a minor edit is a change in which no other user could disagree with. Any sort of edit that changes the meaning of the content is not a minor edit, such as these https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Abdelaziz_al-Hilu&diff=prev&oldid=1333947916 ↗, https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Syrian_conflict_(2024%E2%80%93present)&diff=prev&oldid=1334009875 ↗, https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Rally_of_the_Togolese_People&diff=prev&oldid=1333941995 ↗. If you are unsure if an edit should be tagged as minor or not simply don't tag it, as said at WP:ME, it is perfectly acceptable to never tag an edit as minor. Who is Iran's head of state: Supreme leadership authority v. presidency.
Hello,
You mentioned wanting to call a census on my recommended changes to the infobox and intro concerning Iran's supreme leader. This has already been discussed on the talk page and is frankly already settled in terms of available evidence. But if you want to convene interested parties to formally conclude this process, that can be done. Let me know.
This was my contribution to the discussion:
Many nations do not operationally define their preeminent constitutional officers as the head of state. This is especially true among states with older constitutions, those states where the prevailing system of government isn't a parliamentary democracy (e.g., presidential republics in the Americas), or regimes where the established constitutional order doesn't operate in the usual democratic paradigm occupied by contemporary sovereign states. In the case of Iran, the latter applies: it is constitutionally a theocracy, not a representative democracy. The president is Iran's head of state, not the supreme leader. But the presidency is ultimately subject to the oversight of the supreme leader, who take precedence over all other public officials domestically.
Remember, to be head of state is a function - not an actual office. Per Watts & Foakes (2023) in ''Oxford Public International Law'', a head of state is merely the highest functionary of a sovereign state, with the exclusive right to represent their respective state internationally in all matters concerning international law. Thus, it falls to heads of state to accredit ambassadors abroad, receive the credentials of foreign diplomats, and both pay and accept state visits. Likewise, it also falls to heads of state to sign instruments of ratification, thereby giving full legal effect to treaties. All four of these responsibilities are explicitly conferred on the president by Articles 125 and 128 of the Iranian constitution. Likewise, the international community - including the United Nations and its affiliated organizations - recognizes the president as Iran's head of state.
So, I think we can settle this matter once and for all: the president is indeed Iran's head of government and de jure head of state. However, the supreme leader is the highest political and religious authority of the Iranian state, exercising plenary control and supervision over all aspects of public business, be they legislative, executive, or judicial. The supreme leader is conferred this absolute power by the Islamic Republic constitution in order to guarantee the continuity and stability of the established authoritarian regime. Both this Wikipedia article and the article concerning the Iranian presidency need to be updated to reflect this constitutional reality. Mcvayn (talk) 18:25, 12 March 2026 (UTC)

Introduction to contentious topics
{{ivmbox | image = Commons-emblem-notice.svg |imagesize=50px | bg = #E5F8FF | text = You have recently edited a page related to ''' post-1978 Iranian politics''', a topic designated as '''''contentious ↗'''''. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia's norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators ↗ have an expanded level of powers and discretion in order to reduce disruption to the project.
Within contentious topics, editors should edit <strong>carefully and constructively</strong>, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:

- comply with all applicable policies and guidelines ↗;
- follow editorial and behavioural best practices;
- comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and

Heinrich Brüning
Hello, I manually reverted your edits to Heinrich Brüning for a number of reasons:
1) The added text isn’t integrated with the rest of the article: Hilferding isn't mentioned anywhere else in the article, so shouldn't be in the lead; the gold standard has nothing to do with a possible cabinet reshuffle.
2) The English is substandard, especially in "Rise in politics". I don't really understand what you're trying to say.
3) The footnotes don't conform to Wikipedia standards.
I would also point out the following:
1) I see on your talk page that you've been asked several times to enter edit summaries, yet you still aren't using them. They're important to other page watchers in helping them understand the nature of your changes.
2) Please don't update an article multiple times like you did here. It's hard to figure out what you did when there are so many overlapping updates (and no edit summaries). You should be using your sandbox to work in until you’re satisfied with your edits.

MOS:INFOBOXPURPOSE
Hello, I just wanted to inform you about MOS:INFOBOXPURPOSE ↗. Although it is common practice to add a bunch of information to infoboxes ''only'', it is bad practice per MOS:INFOBOXPURPOSE:
:"The purpose of an infobox is to summarize, but not supplant, the key facts that appear in an article. Barring the specific exceptions listed below, an article should remain complete with its infobox ignored. The less information that an infobox contains, the more effectively it serves its purpose, allowing readers to identify key facts at a glance."
In brief, you should add new information to the article body ''first'' before repeating it in the infobox, rather than add it just to the infobox. ''<span style="color:#595959;">Yue</span>''🌙 (talk) 19:27, 17 June 2026 (UTC)

Wikipedia has strict policy on how we write about living people ↗ to keep such articles accurate and clear, so your change has been removed and archived in the page history for now. 25px|alt=Information icon ↗ Thank you for your contributions ↗ to Wikipedia. Regarding your recent edits to :Ta Mok ↗ when you modified the page, you introduced {{cl|Unknown parameters|unknown parameters}}.

Bare URLs, again
As I already warned you here, I must again tell you to avoid adding bare URLs ↗ when you add a reference containing URL ↗ link to an article. Beside the link rot ↗ issue, you are also creating more work for other users who then have to fill in those bare URLs. WP:TRANSPARENCY
I know a lot of people do it in infoboxes, but please don't make easter egg links like you did at Lao People's Revolutionary Party ↗ per WP:TRANSPARENCY ↗ / WP:EASTEREGG ↗. The reason why this practice is incorrect is because if a reader is looking for an article on Laotian nationalism, they shouldn't be directed to the article generally on nationalism. If there is no article yet like in this case, a red link (i.e. Laotian nationalism ↗) would tell readers it doesn't exist yet and editors that it should be written; this is what you want when linking non-existent articles.
