Re your query at Darius the Mede ↗, the 'h' is indeed silent in various English dialects for ''historical'' (along with other words derived from French starting with h followed by a vowel), and those speakers preface the words with 'an' instead of 'a'. National varieties of English

<small><s>
25px|alt=Information icon ↗ Hello. In a recent edit&nbsp;to the page :Flag of Ghana ↗, you changed one or more words or styles from one national variety of English to another. Because Wikipedia has readers from all over the world, our policy is to respect national varieties of English ↗ in Wikipedia articles.

For a subject exclusively related to the United Kingdom (for example, a famous British person), use British English ↗. For something related to the United States in the same way, use American English ↗. For something related to another English-speaking country ↗, such as Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, India, or Pakistan use the variety of English used there. For an international topic, use the form of English that the ''original'' author of the article used.

In view of that, please don't change articles from one version of English to another, even if you don't normally use the version in which the article is written. Respect other people's versions of English. They, in turn, should respect yours. Other general guidelines on how Wikipedia articles are written can be found in the Manual of Style ↗. If you have any questions about this, you can ask me on my talk page or visit the help desk ↗. Thank you. <!-- Template:uw-lang --> —<span style="font-family: serif">'''''<span style="color: #0a0">Wasell</span>(<span style="color: #e66">T</span>) ↗'''''</span> 🌻 04:24, 30 June 2022 (UTC)</s></small>

User:MrPersonHumanGuy/April Fools plans

Hello, MrPersonHumanGuy,

I find it worrisome than instead of working on improving the encyclopedia, you are spending a lot of your time on a User page about a one day event happening 8 months into the future. On this page, you have fictitious comments made by editors in 2025 so they are entirely made up remarks but they are attributed to real people. This page could easily be tagged for CSD U5 speedy deletion as it has nothing to do with building up this project and is like some hobby or webhost activity.

But rather than tagging this page for deletion, right now, I'd like to instead encourage you to spend more of your time on productive activities that help improve Wikipedia like copy-editing, anti-vandalism, article creation and improvement, all of the mundane tasks that most editors fill their time doing rather than working on personal projects in your User space. April 1st is just one day out of an entire year and your skills and talents could be used right now. If you have questions about this, please bring them to the Teahouse ↗. Thank you. <span style="font-family:Papyrus; color:#800080;">'''''L'''''iz</span> '''''Read!''''' ↗ '''''Talk!''''' 05:50, 31 August 2024 (UTC)
:I'll admit that, since April of this year, I have sometimes gotten quite carried away with figuring out how I would outdo myself next year. As for the ficticious comments, I started making all of those up after I got inspired by a joke AfD page for ChatGPT ↗ created by Awesome Aasim for April Fools 2023. This revision ↗ shows how that page looked before other editors began to add to it. – MrPersonHumanGuy (talk) 10:43, 31 August 2024 (UTC)

Hello MrPersonHumanGuy. Thanks for your question the other day. I was just looking over my recent edits and when I glanced at your contributions I noticed you've been using the minor edit ↗ flag more broadly than it's intended. Just a reminder that it's only meant for superficial changes like typo fixes or reverting obvious vandalism, not for edits that change content or alter meaning (e.g., {{diff2|1275006504}}, {{diff2|1274564232}}, and {{diff2|1274449626}}). I'd also encourage you to use edit summaries ↗ more consistently, especially in articles and drafts. Thanks! Daniel Quinlan (talk) 20:29, 10 February 2025 (UTC)

Introduction to contentious topics

{{ivmbox | image = Commons-emblem-notice.svg |imagesize=50px | bg = #E5F8FF | text = You have recently edited a page related to '''post-1992 politics of the United States and closely related people''', a topic designated as '''''contentious ↗'''''. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and <em>does <strong>not</strong> imply that there are any issues with your editing</em>.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as ''contentious topics''. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee ↗. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators ↗ have an expanded level of powers and discretion in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit <strong>carefully and constructively</strong>, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:

<p>Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics ''procedures'', you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard ↗ or you may learn more about this contentious topic here ↗. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{tl|Ctopics/aware}} template. </p>}}<!-- Derived from Template:Contentious topics/alert/first --> <span style="background-color:black;color:cyan;font-family:Comic Sans MS;">''Tarlby''</span> (''t'') (''c'' ↗) 19:56, 8 May 2025 (UTC)

Sorry for all the notifications!

Just wanted to apologize about all the notifications that you're probably receiving about me and doing your RFD tags. I found that five redirects were missing from your nomination, at least I assume you missed them unintentionally, so I have them in. In addition, none of the target pages or the creators were notified of these nominations, so that is why I undid your tags so I could use Twinkle to automatically tag all of those pages. Thanks! <span style="color:#AF601A;">'''''Steel1943'''''</span> (talk) 02:45, 9 May 2025 (UTC)

:Fortunately for you, I've only received two alerts; the first for this ↗ and the second for this ↗ (both of which involved you "mentioning" me at the RFD page), so your message on my talk page is only my third notification from you. – MrPersonHumanGuy (talk) 10:44, 9 May 2025 (UTC)

Belated RfD tagging

If in the future you find yourself needing/wanting to tag pages for RfD on a day other than the RfD page it's nominated on then you can use the <code>days=''n''</code> parameter, e.g. <code><nowiki>{{subst:rfd1|days=1|content=...}}</nowiki></code> for the following day. The same parameter can be used with {{temp|RfD notice}} to link to a discussion on a preceding day's log page. Thryduulf (talk) 19:56, 17 May 2025 (UTC)

Stop

Hi there!

I noticed that you had copied some parts of my draft Draft:Michael Huang (animator). I wanted to let you know to please stop copying and pasting paragraphs word for word without tweaking it in any way. I wrote that and it feels unfair to just take someone else's work.

Thanks! Wikiman2230 (talk) 15:24, 16 November 2025 (UTC)

CSD G13s

{{archive top|Other users have solved this problem. – MrPersonHumanGuy (talk) 14:32, 2 June 2026 (UTC)}}
Hello, MrPersonHumanGuy,

If you look at :Category:G13 eligible AfC submissions ↗, you'll see several pages that are mistakenly assigned to this category that you created even though they are not stale drafts. I would like to get them out of this category but I don't really understand the purpose of these pages so could you please do so so these two pages are not included in a G13 stale draft categories? Only article drafts from Draft space and User space which are in the process of being sumitted to WP:AFC ↗ should be in a category like this. Thank you very much. <span style="font-family:Papyrus; color:#800080;">'''''L'''''iz</span> '''''Read!''''' ↗ '''''Talk!''''' 04:55, 2 June 2026 (UTC)

:When I visit the category, it's only showing me that two pages (Template:AfC notice holder ↗ and Template:AfC notice holder/testcases ↗) are assigned to it. If all the drafts transcluding this template are no longer being assigned to this category, then that would be fortunate, but the strange (and ''un''fortunate) thing is that this very template seems to be in this category despite the following:
:* Neither of these pages are drafts, nor have they ever been submitted to AfC.
:* Neither of these have been edited to add them to that category. (neither via {{tl|db-g13}} nor directly)
:* I'm not able to find anything in the markup that would put either of them in that category. If a template transcluded by {{tl|AfC notice holder}} currently has that effect, it would appear on the list too. However, no other templates appear besides this one, so this can be ruled out.
:This seems like a bug that should be brought up at the technical village pump ↗. – MrPersonHumanGuy (talk) 10:24, 2 June 2026 (UTC)

I just wanted to say that withdrawing that DRV was a really classy move and it's rare to get editors who actually follow a discussion and get the other side of the argument. Spartaz ''Humbug!'' 12:45, 8 June 2026 (UTC)

AI essay

It would be nice if I were asked before you moved the essay, given that I wrote the original draft. Honestly I should just keep this stuff in my userspace. Gnomingstuff (talk) 23:35, 22 June 2026 (UTC)

:In hindsight, perhaps I should've notified you of the RM discussion (as should be done for creators of pages nominated for deletion) and left it open for a while to give time for any oppose !voters to show up. –&nbsp;MrPersonHumanGuy&nbsp;(talk) 00:22, 23 June 2026 (UTC)
:But I can't blame you for being surprised at what's been happening to the essay since the day you created it. I'd be surprised if any essay ''I'' made started to be heavily edited by another editor. I would hope that whoever starts to edit it to that extent understands what I mean with the essay and doesn't inadvertently ship-of-Theseus ↗ it to appear to convey points that are contrary to what I would've gone for. Even with that sentiment, I wouldn't assume ownership ↗ of the essays I create, especially not the ones outside of userspace, even if no one else has edited them. –&nbsp;MrPersonHumanGuy&nbsp;(talk) 11:06, 23 June 2026 (UTC)
