Question about Shiva sculpture?

thumb ↗
Do you have any further information about the image you uploaded, such as date, material, area/tradition it comes from, identity of the other human figure shown etc? Thanks. Abecedare (talk) 03:32, 19 April 2015 (UTC)
:Unfortunately no Idea. Because this is an exhibit in GOA Museum (A restricted area where photography is not allowded). I taken this photo on my mobile phone. There is a small description but now I cannot remember. If I go to GOA Museum next time I definitely note that description. --Ranjithsiji (talk) 15:45, 7 July 2015 (UTC)
::Thanks Ranjitsinghji for the reply. Hope you are able to make another trip to museum at some point, because (besides the benefit to wikipedia) I am personally curious in particular about the other human figure shown in the sculpture, which I guess has an associated legend. Speedy deletion nomination of Amalendu Dasgupta

Hello Ranjithsiji,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Amalendu Dasgupta ↗ for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

Wiki Stats

Hi Ranjith

I was really impressed to see your tool Wiki Stats for the UNESCO Challenge ↗ (which I'm helping organise). Please could you tell me if its possible for your tool to provide multilingual and multiproject results, ie to have what you have created for Malayalam Wikipedia but for all languages and all projects? Many thanks

What level are you?

I found your name at :Category:User js ↗ (probably because you posted the corresponding userbox on your user page), in the level-unspecified list of JavaScript programmers.

I was wondering how experienced you are at JavaScript, and whether you might be interested in getting involved with developing user scripts, hobnobbing with other JavaScript programmers, and organizing and improving JavaScript articles and support pages.

We do all of that and more at the JavaScript WikiProject ↗.

Scripts undergoing development, and the state of JavaScript on Wikipedia, are discussed on the talk page ↗.

For an overview of JavaScript coverage on Wikipedia, see Draft:Outline of JavaScript ↗ and Index of JavaScript-related articles ↗. For everything on user scripts, see User:The Transhumanist/Outline of scripts.

The WikiProject also organizes every resource it can find about JavaScript out there, such as articles, books, tutorials, etc. See our growing Reference library ↗. If you know of any good ones, please add them.

If you would like to join the JavaScript WikiProject, feel free to add your name to the participants list ↗.

Hope to see you there! <i>The&nbsp;Transhumanist</i> 16:48, 12 May 2017 (UTC)

Hartals at Entry of women to Sabarimala Ayyappa Temple

I've removed your table because the article already has a section on protests/hartals with several paragraphs totaling about 500 words. Completing the article :ml:കിത്താബ് ↗. translation and updation on Malayalam Wikipedia will be helpful in accuracy of translations in other language wikipedias & other language wikipedias can be encouraged to translate before 8March women's day.

Sorry I do not know Malayalam other Indian languages properly. Translated article in Hindi with help of google translator seems reasonable. Translation and correction support most welcome.

Thanking you , with warm regards

Manthrikappoocha ↗ moved to draftspace

An article you recently created, Manthrikappoocha ↗, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable ↗, independent sources ↗. Of the three sources currently provided, #1 is a dead link, and #2 and #3 are just listings for the subject in a library database. We need citations to articles with significant, independent coverage of the subject in reliable sources, such as reviews in newspapers or magazines. I've moved your draft to draftspace ↗ (with a prefix of "<code>Draft:</code>" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. [SVG Translation Campaign 2019 India] Feedback survey

Greetings,

Many thanks for participating in the SVG Translation Campaign 2019 in India ↗. It had been quite a successful campaign—194 users from 19 Indic languages took part in the campaign for 38 days, and have created more than 2,500 SVG files, all of them having labels in native Indian languages. You may read the complete report of the campaign at https://w.wiki/3yn.

We would like to thank you again for translating SVG files as a part of this campaign, your contributions have given thousands of people the knowledge that they need the most. Now we would like to have your feedback about the overall campaign, how effective were the training sessions, the resources provided, the support etc.

'''Please fill the feedback survey at''' https://forms.gle/4TCicfYzjAGVvKTy6

Your responses are extremely valuable to us, and will be of immense help to understand further training needs or plan future activities in this area. Let us know if you have any questions.

Please note that 4 August 2019 is the last date to complete the survey. Regards, MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 04:08, 22 July 2019 (UTC)

Your draft article, Draft:Margaret Pavamani ↗

48px|left|alt=|link= ↗

Hello, Ranjithsiji. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation ↗ submission or Draft ↗ page you started, "Margaret Pavamani ↗".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace ↗, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply {{edit|Draft:Margaret Pavamani|edit the submission}} and remove the {{tlc|db-afc}}, {{tlc|db-draft}}, or {{tlc|db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link ↗. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thank you for your submission to Wikipedia! <!-- Template:Db-draft-notice --><!-- Template:Db-csd-notice-custom --> JMHamo (talk) 19:19, 4 December 2019 (UTC)

An article you recently created, Mookkannoor Govt. Higher Secondary School ↗, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. :{{u|Cabayi}} That was enough of a draft space play. Let it be remain there. OK and Thankyou for that quick action.--Ranjithsiji (talk) 19:58, 11 December 2020 (UTC)

:{{u|Cabayi}} Added some references to the article. If it is not sufficient you are welcome to delete the article. I hope in future some other person will start it again. Have a nice day. --Ranjithsiji (talk) 20:47, 11 December 2020 (UTC)

::There's a big blue Submit button you can use if you think it's ready for consideration. Cabayi (talk) 20:50, 11 December 2020 (UTC)

:::{{u|Cabayi}} I afraid I will never use that thing. Because I am starting only very relevant articles in this wiki and I am filling references (some what very important) to every sentances in the article. I never thought that somebody would consider the information. So why I would care. My first expectation of creating a new article is that It will be deleted from English Wikipedia. So I Don't care now a days. --Ranjithsiji (talk) 20:56, 11 December 2020 (UTC)

::::I don't understand your problem. Malayalam wiki also has verifiability requirements - :ml:വിക്കിപീഡിയ:പരിശോധനായോഗ്യത ↗ - which you're supposed to uphold. Cabayi (talk) 22:23, 11 December 2020 (UTC)

:::::{{u|Cabayi}} The problem is not verifiability. It is absolutely not adding Unreferenced tag on the article. But the problem is moving a relevant article like this into Draft space within 24 hours and pushing it to a long pending review pipeline. At least a 'trusted user/relevant article' must be excluded from this procedure. I am not trying to create a marketing doucment for Bhasa (Who lived in 3rd century CE). If you move this to draft I will definitely leave the article. I had done that before this. Now a days it is incredibly difficult to add credible information into English Wiki. So just be there. No hard feelings. Others will come and do the following. BOOM. --Ranjithsiji (talk) 05:53, 12 December 2020 (UTC)

:Repeatedly creating unsourced articles in mainspace (1 ↗,2 ↗) is deliberately courting difficulties - more so given that you are aware of the process. To me, the issue was entirely a question of the article's verifiability, which it totally lacked.

:It's regrettable that you've now made it a point of principle to NOT press the Submit button - after all it's not about the effort involved, as this discussion shows. I don't know what you intend to show by your stand against submitting the draft for review, but I won't interfere with your protest, I won't submit it either (nor is it my place to decide if you think you're ready for the draft to be reviewed). Happy editing, Cabayi (talk) 10:22, 12 December 2020 (UTC)

:{{u|Cabayi}} - My decision of NOT press the Submit button came from so many bad experiences like deletion of an article without intimation or discussion, deletion of facts without discussion, Long pending review line for article, Non removal of tags after proper action etc.

And thank you for your initiative to talk to me. And thanks for you good words. Previous Admins I talked here was so arrogant and tough for good discussions. Happy wiki time. --Ranjithsiji (talk) 12:05, 12 December 2020 (UTC)

::From your comments, ''"pushing into draft feels like very high insult"'' and ''"If the admins trust me then they must give me more than 24 hours"'' it's clear you take the admin actions as a judgement on you. They're not. They're an assessment of the text you've contributed.
::Autopatrolled is not given to editors to allow them to ignore the required standards, but as a recognition that they '''''always''''' adhere to the requirements. Your experiments are unfortunately creating a history which would make it less likely that you would be given autopatrolled on enwiki.
::As for your hopes for AI, ML & machine translation - it's been frequently discussed but the community's view has consistently been that machine translations into English are too poor quality to be permitted. Regards, Cabayi (talk) 18:27, 12 December 2020 (UTC)

:::{{u|Cabayi}} - For sure they are judgements of ignorance of the subject. I am very much sure the judged admin had no idea about the topic. Multiple times I got that right. Admins must judge with the knowledge and sense. And talking is your best friend and that most people not doing because they don't have time.
:::I don't need a '''''recognition''''' for anything I am doing or written for. Because "Imagine a world in which every single person on the planet is given free access to the sum of all human knowledge. That's what I am doing." and that is my commitment and I was in the list ↗ already. So getting into the list automatically is higher than getting it. And I already had lot of these *s in my language wiki. You cannot catch me from my history I am sure about that. I have enough knowledge about how a wiki works, what is inside it, how to trace, how to anaylise etc.
:::for AI, ML & machine translation - Those are not hopes those things are going to happen in future. Wikidata is not 10year old but It is making a lot (Biggest edited project is WM). And Abstract Wikipedia is the biggest thing coming. And no discussion needed because the foundation already announced the project.
So that is all. If admins care that is good for project. If admins rogue the project sinks. For En wiki, it is the biggest wiki with articles. And a lot of complaints about the bad admin behaviour. Hope admins will act with more sense. Regards, --Ranjithsiji (talk) 20:32, 12 December 2020 (UTC)

::{{u|Gazal world}} Thanks for your interest. The sad part is that, such an important article is just moved to draft space. And people arguing me to develop it there and wait for review. Now I got the reason, I am not a trusted user here. I started editing Wikipedia on 2005. In my old account I had 2000 edits here before 2010. On those times I created articles, edited articles and nobody is asking questions like this. This account was created on 2010 after the username unification happened and I lost my old accounts. I had big plans to write/develop articles about Geography of Kerala, Important literature of India which don't have enough information in this wiki. But what holding back is this behaviour. Now I realize that I am not a trusted user, no auto-patrol rights. I am a bureaucrat in my home wiki but things are not working here. So trying to apply for autopatrol rights here. If it works then will try to do something here. Otherwise I will concentrate on my home wiki and Wikidata. There is a lot of job to do. Happy editing. Thanks for stopping by. Regards - --Ranjithsiji (talk) 14:10, 3 January 2021 (UTC)
:::{{ping|Ranjithsiji}} Don't be discouraged. English Wikipedia is a more globalised community and rules are followed more stringently here due to its size and more likelihood of vandalism. The whole discussion was unwarranted. In English Wikipedia here, anything without reference or unaware/unknown things are more likely to be draftified because of the vanalism issues in managing such a large encyclopedia. Just simply adding few references would have made it easier to pass/patrolled. I know, It is annoying to feel untrustworthy but do understand that things are looked here with more suspicion than other Wikipedias.
:::You can create new articles with references and ping me to review it quickly after submitting the draft. So rules are followed and you get your work done faster. But, I would be able to review only literature/writers related articles. --Gazal world (talk) 15:50, 3 January 2021 (UTC)

Speedy deletion ↗ nomination of :Meenakshi Raveendran ↗

48px|left|alt=|link= ↗
{{Quote box|quote=<p>If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article ↗.</p><p>You may want to consider using the Article Wizard ↗ to help you create articles.</p>|width=20%|align=right}}
A tag has been placed on :Meenakshi Raveendran ↗ requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion ↗, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion ↗, at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Meenakshi Raveendran ↗. When a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after a discussion, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may '''contest the nomination''' by visiting the page ↗ and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines ↗. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the {{Querylink|Special:Log|qs=type=delete&page=Meenakshi+Raveendran|deleting administrator}}, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here ↗. <!-- Template:Db-repost-notice --><!-- Template:Db-csd-notice-custom --> Jeraxmoira🐉 (talk) 11:39, 20 August 2024 (UTC)

Message to Deb about deletion of Article called Meenakshi Raveendran

Dear {{ping|Deb}},

Subject : About deletion of the Article Meenakshi Raveendran ↗ without pinging me.

I am Ranjithsiji ↗ from Kerala, India (Was a Colony of UK before 1947). You just deleted Article Meenakshi Raveendran ↗ without pinging me or even putting your opinion in the speedy deletion discussion which was happened in Talk:Meenakshi Raveendran ↗ with me and {{ping| Jeraxmoira}}.

You just said that "A much better draft already exists" on the deletion log only. I cannot ask for undeletion of the article at WP:DRV ↗ because the talk page was also deleted.

The original problem was when I started the article the redlink page was not linked to the Draft:Meenakshi Raveendran ↗ which was showing now. So I don't have an information about an existing draft. I am the only person who edited that article and simply delete a page without pinging me is not a good practice in Wikipedia. I am not trying to do any kind of VANDALISM.Also this article passes the notability criteria.

You just spoiled my work done on this article. And {{ping|UtherSRG}} says that there is no way to get my article back. This is a real bad practice and I feel sad for you.

I am Bureaucrat and sysop in my home wikipedia and I have enough experience in handling all kind of admin tools.

So before doing any kind of destruction just consider the hard work of editors. If I am doing any kind of bad to wikipedia then you have all the right to punish me. What you just did was destroying all the work that done by me using the power with you. If you can consider me then I think you will find a way to solve this problem. If you are not consider the scenario then can I recreate the article you just deleted.

Hope we meet again in English Wikipedia,

Have a good day and nice evenings.

Regards and Best Wishes. Ranjithsiji (talk) 12:37, 21 August 2024 (UTC)

:Hi, Ranjithsiji. I'm sorry I didn't follow my usual practice of leaving you a message. I don't like to criticise you, but the article I deleted was badly written, in very poor English, and didn't make a proper claim of notability. The draft version is far better and has been in draft for a very long time, so you should have checked for it before you tried to create a new one. For some reason it hasn't been submitted for review yet, so I invite you to work on that and then submit it for an independent review. Deb (talk) 13:00, 21 August 2024 (UTC)
::Dear {{ping|Deb}} I understood the point. Why I started the article because there was no warning on the page that this article was deleted previously, there was a Draft of this article etc.. Usually when I try to recreate a deleted article there is a message about that. Why this article is in very poor english because no copyvio edit was done. It was in a work in progress state. the was proper claim of notability on talk page. The current draft version is in a bad shape ↗. My practice of creating a new article in Wikipedia is click a red link and start writing. That was a practice for a lot of early editors for a long time. I started editing in 2005. So DRAFT thing is relatively new. And the articles I created contains enough things. Usually not in bad shape.
::The thing happened was Just deleted the article and talk page (where a discussion is ongoing) in the middle.
::Now you are helpless and I am also helpless about what was happened. What I feel is very sad.
::My Advice is that before press the DELETE button please click some links and enquire about what is happening around things and warn people.
::I got a lot of very very very bad experience in English Wikipedia from the admins. That is why I am holding back writing here.
::Still I am "Imagining a world in which every single person on the planet is given free access to the sum of all human knowledge."
::OK. Bye. Have good days and Nice evenings.
::Regards. Ranjithsiji (talk) 14:23, 21 August 2024 (UTC)
:::"It was in a work in progress state" - that's why it should have been started in draft, not in article space. Draft space has been available for more than ten years - it isn't new - and you didn't begin on English Wikipedia until 2010 so AfC was always available to you. There are also templates you can use to indicate that an article is unfinished ↗, and these have been around since 2005. If you had begun by creating a draft, you would have known that someone else had already done so. You're right in saying that the current draft isn't ready for mainspace yet, but it is ''much'' better than the version you tried to create in article space, so I didn't "spoil" anything; your version just wasn't anywhere near good enough. If you're having "bad experiences" with admins, it could be because you don't understand the advice you are being given. For someone with limited English, clicking on a red link is not a good way to start an article unless you have already prepared the text in your sandbox and obtained help from an English speaker. My advice to you is to use the Draft facility every time you want to start an article from now on, otherwise you are going to hit the same problems time and time again. Deb (talk) 14:46, 21 August 2024 (UTC)
::::I think you are an admin here. Then please read the first comment in this talk page and do some investivation. Then you will find the answer of WHEN I started editing English wikipedia (That is not a matter of discussion here).
::::I usually start edit an english wikipedia article in my computer with a text editor (Vim, Nano). Then I copy the article with enought templates into this wiki. Why I do this because some patrolers tag very soon. Admins delete very soon. Why I am not using Draft is because there is good backlog.
::::I only create new article which is very much notable. But some admins can't understand. I got a notability request for the work of Bhasa ↗.
::::Now a days I prepare article in my computer getting help from chatgpt.
::::Still I am ready to fight. Don't care if someone delete it. I am meeting enough people those who had same bad experience from english wikipedia in all wikimedia conferences. So I am not alone.
::::My advice is that the admins in English Wikipedia must work to make English Wikipiedia a better place for editors.
::::Will think about drafts future. Testing waters. Ranjithsiji (talk) 15:21, 21 August 2024 (UTC)
:::::There are around 20 basic English errors in this rant. ''Do not'' try to create an article using Chatgpt; it will be obvious to anyone reading your article. ''Do not'' assume that you are right and everyone else is wrong; you aren't and they aren't. Disruptive editing can lead to you being blocked; if you want to avoid that, I recommend you take notice of the advice you've been given. If you carry on "fighting", as you put it, you could end up being prevented from editing here. I would be very unhappy to see you shooting yourself in the foot. Deb (talk) 17:56, 21 August 2024 (UTC)
::::::I am shooting myself in the foot here for last 8 years . I am not a native UK English speaker or US English speaker. There are big contradictions in different English in the world. And errors are natural in a Wikipedia Article. And to correct those errors people are using [EDIT] button.
::::::I always assume that I am wrong and others are right. I will try to think from the other side too. So I do a lot of research to get more correct version of things. There is no absolute truth or absolute error in the universe. Every thing is relative to perspective.
::::::I am not doing any kind of Disruptive editing. If any one disrupt my editing I stop there. That is my policy. The License CC-BY-SA-4.0 says that you remix, transform, or build upon the material. So when you press publish the material is not yours only.
::::::Usually I prevent my self from editing here. So I am not doing a lot of work that can be done here using various kinds of tools in my possession.
::::::My thought is that let English Wikipedia people must find their way.
::::::I am an open knowledge volunteer. Wikipedia editing is one way of contributing to open knowledge. I am running a science journal in my language with CC-BY-SA-4.0 License. I am running a wiki for schools in my language. I am creating a lot of free software (free as in freedom).
::::::So if people disrupt me for non legitimate reasons then I stop here.
::::::You deleted an article which passed the notability criteria in English Wikipedia. It does not matter whether it was written by me or any other editor because of CC-BY-SA-4.0. Yes there was a draft. But that was there for last 3 months. Due to the complexity of the process in English Wikipedia you are now helpless to reinstate the article. The only thing you can do is to move the Draft article into main namespace. According to the subject of the article I am not a concerned party. So I am not so worried about moving the draft.
::::::Everything in the universe will come into Wikipedia. Time is the only constraint. So people can wait. Everything after a 100 years is a part of open knowledge. So Harvest now, decrypt later ↗ is the best attack. And Everything is inside a box ↗ so we can find it later.
::::::OK. Bye. Have good days and Nice evenings.
::::::Regards Ranjithsiji (talk) 18:48, 21 August 2024 (UTC)
:::::::On the contrary, I am not ''helpless''. I could restore your bad article and delete the better-written draft. But I'm not going to do that. Deb (talk) 13:14, 22 August 2024 (UTC)
::::::::OK, DC ↗. Good or Bad or Draft. Deleting a Main namespace article Which passes notability criteria in Wikipedia is not a good practice. A kind of over use of power. Not good for community. Really bad for a veteran admin. Ranjithsiji (talk) 17:13, 22 August 2024 (UTC)

Mokksha ↗ moved to draftspace

Thanks for your contributions to Mokksha ↗. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because '''it needs more sources to establish notability''' and '''The sources are IMDb type references, interviews, or about the films with only mentions of her roles. Cannot find any significant coverage of her that is reliable other than one bylined piece in TOI but that is an interview so would not count towards notability. Moving to draft as an WP:ATD ↗'''.
I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page ↗.
When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. CNMall41 (talk) 00:59, 23 August 2024 (UTC)

:OK. Thanks for the notification. I will try to work on that article. I will add more references if they are available. Ranjithsiji (talk) 05:16, 23 August 2024 (UTC)

:@Belbury I am Bureaucrat in Malayalam Wikipedia. So I know how to contribute to a Wikipedia project. Also I am contributing into English Wikipedia from 2005. Kalliyankattu Neeli is fictional character so you cannot get a photograph of Kalliyankattu Neeli to add into this article. Per WP:AIGI ↗ it can be included because there is ''no free non-AI-generated images are available''. So please reinstate my edit. Regards Ranjithsiji (talk) 13:52, 8 September 2025 (UTC)
::Hi, we have some differences in policies here at the English Wikipedia, the AI question was discussed by the community a while ago. The line you're quoting is, in full (and with my emphasis):
::{{tqb|'''Community members have largely rejected''' making exceptions merely because an image lacks obvious errors, or because no free non-AI-generated images are available.}}
::I know other projects take a different view, but the English Wikipedia project has very much decided against using AI to illustrate articles that otherwise lack images. Belbury (talk) 14:32, 8 September 2025 (UTC)
:::@Belbury OK. Don't use the image. No problem. We can wait to get an image of the Fictional character in free license to add it here. Ranjithsiji (talk) 14:34, 8 September 2025 (UTC)
::::Thanks. I'll tag the article talk page as needing an image. Belbury (talk) 14:41, 8 September 2025 (UTC)

25px|alt=Information icon ↗ Thank you for your contributions ↗ to Wikipedia. Regarding your recent edits to :St. Thomas Institute for Science and Technology ↗ when you modified the page, you introduced {{cl|Unknown parameters|unknown parameters}}. Just because you specify {{para|some_param|{{var|some_variable}}}} does not always mean that variable will display. The {{para|some_param}} must be defined in the template. You can look at the documentation for the template you are using but it is also helpful to use the preview ↗ button before you save your edit; this helps you find any errors you have made and ensure that the values you have added are displaying correctly. Below the edit box is a '''Show preview''' button. Pressing this will show you what the page will look like without actually saving it. It is strongly recommended that you use this before saving. Note I have likely fixed the error by now so check the history ↗ of the page to see how it was fixed. If you have any questions, contact the help desk ↗ for assistance.
Thank you.<!-- User:Zackmann08/uw/Unknown-params-warning --> '''<span style="color:#00d5ff !important">Zack</span><span style="color:#007F94 !important">mann</span>''' (<sup>Talk to me ↗</sup>/<sub><span style="color:orange !important">What I been doing</span> ↗</sub>) 15:16, 5 July 2026 (UTC)

:Dear @Zackmann08, this is a technical problem and a standardization problem than a user problem. When a user editing a template then it is very hard to go to the template page and read the whole documentation and add another variable. Instead if english wikipedia has a technology that check the template variables and warns user that the variable does not exists in the template is reasonable. Also the english wikipedia admins can make a standardization for some variable like if there is image variable then the alt variable must be image_alt, if there is lat varilable there must be lon variable etc. Then bots can ensure if all the templates comply to the standardization document. Right now those are missing. Template editors can contribute this field a lot. It take less time than searching all template violations. Hope some template editors, bureaucrats and interface admins think this way. And don't lecture to me about the Preview button because I have enough Wiki editing experience. You can view my user page. That is public. Thank you, Happy hacking. Ranjithsiji (talk) 11:47, 7 July 2026 (UTC)
::Lets settle down a bit. Noe one is lecturing you about anything. This was a friendly reminder to check your edits. If you don't want to take the time to WP:PREVIEW ↗ your edits and see that you are inserting bad code, then fine, don't. But then don't be surprised when a more experienced editor comes along and points out your mistake. '''<span style="color:#00d5ff">Zack</span><span style="color:#007F94">mann</span>''' (Talk to me ↗/<span style="color:orange">What I been doing</span> ↗) 15:11, 7 July 2026 (UTC)
:::Dear @Zackmann08, I am not intentionally inserting bad code into english wikipedia. A usual expectation is if there is an image variable then there will be alt variable. This comes from HTML standards. Right now there is no standard to follow in wikipedia templates. No mechanism which checks and block before saving. Both are possible with technologies available from 15 years ago. Still no one is attempting that. And blaming editors for their errors. There are number of bots are operating in english wikipedia 15 year ago. No single mechanism to prevent adding a bad variable when using a template. Does this look weird? Why no body (Admins, Beurocrats, Interface Admins, Template editors) attempting this. Are they careless? Only blaming editors? Ranjithsiji (talk) 16:42, 7 July 2026 (UTC)
::::Again, all you need to do is preview your edits. This is VERY simple and easy to do. You claim you have tons of wiki editing experience. If that is true you surely understand that you can preview your edit. It is just that simple.
::::Now inserting a bad parameter is really not that big of a deal. What is much more of a problem is your claiming that you are somehow the victim here when it was YOU who made the mistake. Just own that and move on.
::::For the record, {{tl|Infobox university}} DOES support WP:ALT ↗. The issue is that there are multiple images in that Infobox, so you need to distinguish between the multiple alts. That is why you have {{para|image_alt}} and {{para|logo_alt}}.
::::In the future, WP:PREVIEW ↗ your edits and heed the very clear preview warning that is displayed and stop claiming you are the victim of some failed system of bad admins. '''<span style="color:#00d5ff">Zack</span><span style="color:#007F94">mann</span>''' (Talk to me ↗/<span style="color:orange">What I been doing</span> ↗) 16:56, 7 July 2026 (UTC)
:::::@Zackmann08 OK. I admit that I got a mistake. But we can always edit it and correct it. And thanks for correcting my mistake and put that into my attention. In future I will take extra care when editing a template. Fine. I apologise for the claims I had made. Ranjithsiji (talk) 17:46, 8 July 2026 (UTC)
