Shire of Ravensthorpe in the Great Southern



I saw your edits in regard to the Shire of Ravensthorpe ↗ moving to the Great Southern (Western Australia) ↗. Is it really? I know they have applied but has it really moved? The Regions | DLGSC ↗ website still lists it under Goldfields office ↗, as does the Local Government - Goldfields-Esperance Development Commission (GEDC) ↗, while the Great Southern Development Commission - GSDC ↗ doesn't list the Shire of Ravensthorpe there. I found only one source, Ravensthorpe formally accepted into new regional WALGA zone after leaving Goldfields-Esperance | Kalgoorlie Miner ↗, hidden behind a pay wall. I believe it is official, the WA Country Health Service website now lists Ravensthorpe under the Great Southern regional profile, alongside City of Albany, Shire of Broomehill-Tambellup etc,: https://www.wacountry.health.wa.gov.au/Our-services/Great-Southern/Great-Southern-regional-profile Ronnievonjohnson (talk) 08:54, 29 December 2024 (UTC)

But yeah, it's a shame that the coverage was so sparse, if you type "ravensthorpe joins great southern region" into google, that article by the Kalgoorlie Miner says "A south-coast WA shire has been formally accepted into a new regional council zone after leaving the Goldfields-Esperance local government zone. The shire of Ravensthorpe will now function as a Great Southern shire under Western Australian Local Government Association zoning." but the rest of the article is indeed hidden behind a paywall.
:What surprises me more is that there is nothing on it on the shire's website either, just the note from June ↗ about the application. Official maps, like https://maps.slip.wa.gov.au/landgate/locate/ and https://nationalmap.gov.au/ still show it under Goldfields. Calistemon (talk) 09:24, 29 December 2024 (UTC)

It seems a bit excessive to ask for a reference to every individual race. It certainly doesn't seem common, every jockey article I've come across would point to the contrary. Hi ~2026-40138-1. Firstly, thanks for the message! You are correct that the referencing for that particular section is inconsistent to say the least. However, I'd still recommend leaving it as is for now. Normally when something needs more references, a citation needed tag or template is placed as a courtesy, to let other users know additional citations are needed (unless of course the information in question is obviously false, in which case it is normally removed). I will go ahead and tag that section now as needing more references. Also, at the bottom of the page is an external links section, which does contain additional external links (e.g. IMDb) that verify the content. I hope I've been of some small help.
