Smaller local level administrative division units within Mongolia



Greetings. I have a random question about smaller local level administrative division units within the nation of Mongolia. What is the proper transliteration in English for the word "kheseg"?

Also, if the "khesegs" are the subdivisions of the municipal subdistricts (a.k.a. "khoroos"), what are the subdivisions for the rural subdistricts (a.k.a. "bags/baghs")?

:Hi. Thanks for noticing my edit on that :) .. Ok, let's work things out properly based on the available information from legitimate sources on the Internet. If you understand about Mongolia articles in Wikipedia, many have not been properly written from verified and updated sources. Even from the government website, there are still many missing information, including the non-standardize translation or transliteration from Mongolian name to its English equivalent name. So, for that 'kheseg' name, I found it on this reference (https://dtm.iom.int/sites/g/files/tmzbdl1461/files/reports/Ulaanbaatar_Phase2_ENG.pdf) by the Swiss Agency for the Development and Cooperation, which is a very acceptable sources. Inside there, I only found the word 'kheseg' for the smallest subdivision of Ulaanbaatar (sub of khoroo). So far, I have not found (in any other sources) its English transliteration of kheseg. And also, so far I haven't found the equivalent of kheseg for the province (aimag)'s 4th level of division yet (sub of bags). Of course once I have found it, I will update the information in Wikipedia in due course. Khoroo is translated as 'Municipal subdistrict' (as shown in the sidebar of 'Template:Administrative divisions of Mongolia'), so temporarily, kheseg would be 'Municipal sub-subdistrict' bluntly speaking, unless we can temporarily take any equivalent name from English speaking countries of their equivalent 4th level of division (e.g. maybe 'borough' or 'neighborhood'?), like Mongolia's 2nd level of division 'aimag' we transliterate that as province. Again, this is an ongoing expansion of information in which things will still change as we get more and more legitimate information to support it, but we try to converge the information so that we can have a full consensus for these subdivisions proper naming in English. :::Eh, maybe you misunderstood me. No, I didn't say that for the bag. Bag is the official name and the official subdivison of soum. But for the equivalent level of 4th division of kheseg for the province/aimag, yes, that one I haven't found any sources that mentioning it. So basically to sum up (to avoid confusion), subdivision in Mongolia is divided into two parts, the Ulaanbaatar part and the aimag/province part. Ulaanbaatar (1st administrative level) consists of district (düüreg, 2nd level), khoro (3rd level) and kheseg (4th level). Province/aimag (1st administrative level) consists of district (soum, 2nd level), bag (3rd level) and I haven't found the 4th level yet (which should be equivalent to Ulaanbaatar's kheseg). Because I had this thought that it might being either "villages" or "localities" or "hamlets" to be that 4th level within the nation's administrative subdivision unit pyramid ↗ or hierarchy; as the ''bag'' is roughly a rural sub-district within the ''soum'' (a.k.a. rural district) within the ''aimag'' (or province).
