Santa Lucia Preserve
Hi Shortride, I saw you added Santa Lucia Preserve as an unincorporated area of Monterey County. I'd looked into this prior but couldn't determine if it were actually the case. Do you have a source? Thanks!

Origin of Pennzoil ↗
I know it's been more than a decade, but there's some talk about an aspect of the Pennzoil article ↗. Your edit changed the original company's origin to Los Angeles, but without citation. There's nothing online that can confirm this as their origin, nor can contradict it, either. Do you happen to recall where you definitively determined Los Angeles?

Speedy deletion nomination of Calistoga Tribune
Hello, Shortride,
Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username Hughesdarren, and I thank you for your contributions.
I wanted to let you know, however, that I have tagged an article that you started, Calistoga Tribune ↗, for deletion, because it is a very short article that doesn't provide readers with enough context to determine who or what the subject is.
If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can <span class="plainlinks">'''[//en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title={{urlencode:Talk:Calistoga Tribune}}&action=edit§ion=new&preload=Template:Hangon_preload&preloadtitle=This+page+should+not+be+speedy+deleted+because...+ contest this deletion]'''</span> but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top. If the page is already deleted by the time you come across this message and you wish to retrieve the deleted material, please contact the {{Querylink|Special:Log|qs=type=delete&page=Calistoga+Tribune&subtype=delete|deleting administrator}}.
For any further query, please leave a comment here and prepend it with <code><nowiki>{{Re|</nowiki>Hughesdarren<nowiki>}}</nowiki></code>. And, don't forget to sign your reply with <code><nowiki>~~~~</nowiki></code> . Thanks!

Save-a-Lot store count
Back on 1 July 2011, you added the store count of "1,280" to Save-A-Lot ↗. I know this was back nearly a decade ago, but I'm wondering if you still recall where you got that information from. I ask because, in the process of making a footprint map, I've only found 984 locations, according to their store locator. Proposed deletion ↗ of :Huntington Beach Independent ↗
left|link=|alt=Notice|48px| ↗
The article :Huntington Beach Independent ↗ has been proposed for deletion ↗ because of the following concern:
<blockquote>'''Unsourced article about a former local newspaper. Searching found some coverage of the sale of it's owner, Orange Coast Publishing Co., in 1988 and non-independent coverage by Los Angeles Times in 2003. No significant independent coverage of the newspaper itself was found. Fails general notability criteria.'''</blockquote>
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons ↗.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{Tlc|proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary ↗ or on the article's talk page ↗.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{Tlc|proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process ↗, but other deletion process ↗es exist. In particular, the speedy deletion ↗ process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion ↗ allows discussion to reach consensus ↗ for deletion.<!-- Template:Proposed deletion notify --> Gab4gab (talk) 14:47, 28 November 2022 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on :Advanced Bionics ↗ requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion ↗, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion ↗, at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Advanced Bionics ↗. When a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after a discussion, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may '''contest the nomination''' by visiting the page ↗ and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Speedy deletion ↗ nomination of :Catholic Health East ↗

A tag has been placed on :Catholic Health East ↗ requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion ↗, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement ↗. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://pitchbook.com/profiles/company/43121-80<nowiki> </nowiki>and https://www.cbinsights.com/company/catholic-health-east. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of ''information'', but not as a source of ''sentences''. This part is crucial: ''say it in your own words''. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators '''will be blocked from editing ↗'''.
If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you ''must'' verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials ↗. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission ↗ for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy ↗ for more details, or ask a question here ↗.
Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines ↗. <!-- Template:Db-copyvio-notice --><!-- Template:Db-csd-notice-custom --> Mike1901 (talk) 15:21, 3 February 2023 (UTC)

Interstate 8
Two quick points to elaborate on my last edit summary:
- First, we need a source. The Google Street View imagery for the three exits from February, March, May 2023, respectively, does not show any destinations at those exits, just the road names. We don't have a way to verify that the signs have been changed until Google drives through ggain and captures new images. I-8 is a featured article, so verification is a priority.
- Second, we don't include destinations not present on the main guide sign at an exit in that fashion.
- *If the "big green sign" (BGS) with the exit number at the exit has those destinations, we'd include them in the destinations column.
- *Instead, if there is supplemental signage listing them, signage separate from the BGSs at the exit, says a "Viejas Reservation Exit 33", then that could be listed in the notes for the exit, "Also access to Viejas Reservation" or the like.

Deletion discussion about Anthology Editions ↗
Hello Shortride, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.
While your contributions are appreciated, I wanted to let you know that I've started a discussion about whether an article that you created, Anthology Editions ↗, should be deleted, as I am not sure that it is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia in its current form. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Anthology Editions ↗.
Deletion discussions ↗ usually run for seven days and are ''not'' votes. Our guide ↗ about effectively contributing to such discussions is worth a read. The most common issue in these discussions is notability ↗, but it's not the only aspect that may be discussed; read the nomination and any other comments carefully before you contribute to the discussion. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

25px|alt=Information icon ↗ Hello, and thank you for your efforts to improve Wikipedia, and in particular for adding references, as you did to Vermont Public ↗! However, adding a bare URL ↗ is not ideal, and exposes the reference to link rot ↗. It is preferable to use proper citation templates ↗ when citing sources ↗, including details such as title, author, date, and any other information necessary for a bibliographic citation ↗. Here's an example of a full citation using the {{tl|cite web}} template to cite a web page:
: <code><nowiki>Lorem ipsum<ref>{{cite web |title=Download the Scanning Software - Windows and Mac |publisher=Canon Inc |work=Ask a Question |date=2022 |url=https://support.usa.canon.com/kb/index?page=content&id=ART174839 |access-date=2022-04-02}}</ref> dolor sit amet.</nowiki></code>
which displays ''inline ↗'' in the running text of the article as:
:Lorem ipsum{{fake ref|1}} dolor sit amet.
and displays under '''References''' as:
: 1. ^ Download the Scanning Software - Windows and Mac ↗". ''Ask a Question''. Canon Inc. 2022. Retrieved 2022-04-02.
If you've already added one or more bare URLs to an article, there are tools available to expand them into full citations; try the reFill tool ↗, which can resolve some bare references semi-automatically.
Once again, thanks for adding references to articles. <!-- Template:Uw-bareurl --> <span style="color:#ba4168">Sammi Brie</span> (she/her • t • c ↗) 18:43, 28 April 2024 (UTC)

Tolkien's publisher
Hi, please don't update the historic name of Allen & Unwin. That is what it was at the time, and it makes no sense to introduce a glaring anachronism. I've reverted all I've seen, but please stop, it's just an error. All the best, Chiswick Chap (talk) 02:26, 22 January 2025 (UTC)
:Tolkien's publisher changed named and was acquired in the 1980s and 1990s, so the publisher of some volumes of The History of Middle-earth would not be Allen & Unwin Shortride (talk) 23:32, 22 January 2025 (UTC)
::We must use the name that he saw, or for posthumous volumes, that appeared in the first editions We can't go about creating anachronisms. The existing redirects will find the current owners so there's no advantage in any sort of updating.
To be clear, we can't cite a publisher that did not exist at the time of publication. Use the publisher named in the first edition.
Note also that it is not safe to reason from takeovers, Publishers often continue to use old names as imprints. If there is any doubt, then refer to the cover of each book individually for what was actually printed there. Predicting from dates is OR. Chiswick Chap (talk) 03:36, 23 January 2025 (UTC)
:Right, I've checked several volumes individually, and sure enough they have different imprints, so I updated those. The Allen & Unwin imprint survived for a little while after the Hyman merger so it was indeed not safe to make an inference from takeover date: all that shows is that from that moment, multiple imprint names were possible. It is essential to check each volume individually. All the best, Chiswick Chap (talk) 09:29, 23 January 2025 (UTC)
Initial
As you are also an editor of long standing, I'm a bit nonplussed to find that we disagree on whether a non-notable subsidiary should be included in a disambiguation page. It seems to me to be a WP:NOTDB ↗ violation. Wikipedia is not a Yellow Pages. To be honest, I came here to your talk page expecting to find a new, 'pay to edit', account. So now I will agf and ask why you think it merits inclusion? Meanwhile I will not revert again if you decide to reinstate. 𝕁𝕄𝔽 (talk) 10:48, 26 February 2025 (UTC)
:Initial was an International Emmy winner, providing it some note. Shortride (talk) 20:33, 26 February 2025 (UTC)

Uncategorized redirects
Please categorize your redirects so people do not mistakenly nominate them for deletion. Categorizing redirects make them easier to understand and to understand what is and isn't vandalism. Someone who has been creating redirects and Wikipedia should know of this, but if you think it takes too much time then you can use Wikipedia:Redirect helper ↗ when you're creating them or Wikipedia:Capricorn ↗ after you've already created them. I don't expect you to recategorize all the redirects you've bad but you're probably still going to make a few more as you seem to be a prolific contributor of redirects. Please read Wikipedia:Categorizing redirects ↗, Wikipedia:WikiProject Redirect/Style guide ↗, and Wikipedia:Printability ↗, ordered from most to least important. 🇪🇭🇵🇸🇸🇩 '''<span style="color:red;">East</span><span style="color:black;">ernsa</span><span style="color:green;">hara</span> ↗''' 🇪🇭🇵🇸🇸🇩 04:41, 19 September 2025 (UTC)

Proposed deletion ↗ of :American Film Foundation ↗
left|link=|alt=Notice|48px| ↗
The article :American Film Foundation ↗ has been proposed for deletion ↗ because of the following concern:
<blockquote>'''Tagged as Unreferenced and for Notability for 6 years. No other language has a reliably sourced article from which to translate.'''</blockquote>
In particular, the speedy deletion ↗ process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion ↗ allows discussion to reach consensus ↗ for deletion.<!-- Template:Proposed deletion notify --> Bearian (talk) 00:19, 1 October 2025 (UTC)

Speedy deletion ↗ nomination of :Draft:Micro Kickboard ↗

A tag has been placed on :Draft:Micro Kickboard ↗, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion ↗, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam ↗ and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations ↗ for more information.
Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines ↗. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the {{Querylink|Special:Log|qs=type=delete&page=Draft%3AMicro+Kickboard|deleting administrator}}. <!-- Template:Db-spam-notice --> <!-- Template:Db-csd-notice-custom --> 🇵🇸‍🇺🇦 <span style="color:#800">Fiddle</span><small>Timtrent</small> <span style="color:#070">Faddle</span><small>Talk to me</small> 🇺🇦‍🇵🇸 19:39, 15 December 2025 (UTC)
