List of unusual deaths

Hi there! You've made a couple of edits to this list, and I've undone them, so I thought I should drop you a line to clarify. After a lot of discussion (we're talking years of discussion here), it was agreed that {{tq|the clear policy based consensus is to keep this list only to those deaths for whom there are reliable sources (as noted by one person, these need to be high quality sources, not tabloid journals who regularly fling around these words for fun) that the death is in someway exceptional. All other entries (those for whom someone might say "Come on, this is ''obviously'' strange") should be removed.}} I'm glad that you'd like to contribute, so please, when adding a death check to make sure the source actually calls it unusual - synonyms, like weird, strange, odd, or freak accident work too, and we've had entries supported by things like "In my X years as coroner, I've never seen this". :::::::::Not rude at all, no worries. :) The source you used looked to me to be user-generated. If the museum itself had an exhibition or collection of deaths, that would be one thing, but this is 1) a list created by "Yvonne27542", and 2) composed of what appears to be user-submitted information. This is the same reason that Find a Grave, Ancestry.com, and IMDb are unreliable sources. A contemporary news article on Twynam's death calling it unusual would be OK, but I wasn't able to find one.

St. Paul Pioneer Guard

Hello, <br><br>

I was the reviewer on Josias R. King ↗, and I've done some extensive editing of it since I approved it. Great call, creating an article for him; I was a little surprised there wasn't one already!<br><br>

Anyways, while editing, I kept seeing references to the "St. Paul Pioneer Guard(s)." It was, apparently, some form of semi-official pre-Civil War militia which the Minnesota National Guard claims to descend from. <br><br>

Given the First Minnesota's status as the most senior volunteer Union unit — and that, apparently, most of the First Minnesota was made-up of St. Paul Pioneer Guardsmen — I feel the entity is likely notable enough to warrant its own article. <br><br>

Would you care to assist me in gathering sources for such an article? Any ideas of what to add or sources you find, feel free to just drop below here. If you would rather not assist, no worries, either! <br><br>

I see that a number of times you have created pages with speedy deletion requests already in place. I don't know why you have done that, but it is difficult to think of any useful purpose in doing so, and it takes up administrators' time which could be spent on other tasks. If you do have a constructive reason for it, then please explain it; otherwise it will be better not to do it.
